Jelly Roll is one of the most popular country music stars in the world today. Further, he’s (famously) relatively new to stardom and the scene.
That’s why our ears perked up when he said he would “expose” the music business – especially considering the ongoing Diddy scandal!
Jelly Roll Sounds Off
Jelly Roll, 39, took to X to make this threat on Friday.
“Learned a lot about how slimy the music business is this week, don’t worry yall know I’m going to expose it soon,” he wrote. “This whole thing is smoke and mirrors yall.”
“All that […] Russ be talking about is REAL!” he added.
This was a reference to the rapper and songwriter Russ, who Jelly Roll collaborated with on a track called “Really Gone.” Russ has been vocal about exposing the music industry in the past.
“I learned that the whole industry is ran by… it’s a couple people,” Russ previously explained. “You know that guy at Spotify, that guy at Apple, you know this person at Rhythm Radio and this person at Urban Radio… between four people you can run the whole […].”

Russ Rips Major Record Labels
Earlier in 2024, Russ lashed out at major record labels. He accused these companies of purchasing fake streams.
“How are they tricking us?” Andrew Schulz asked on his “Flagrant” podcast. “Because I see these people that go crazy, right? Album goes No. 1 but then they can’t fill up a show. So the math is not mathing.”
“It’s a real thing,” Russ replied. “Here’s the deal, when you talk to these people—’cause I’ve talked to these people, ’cause I’ve been like, ‘What is this? How are y’all doing this?’ They never disclose the mechanics of how they actually fake the streams.”
“But the reality is the labels are spending money… devil’s advocate, they’re treating it like a marketing expense,” he continued. “Because, in a sense, it almost is.”
Meanwhile, Jelly Roll later returned to X to clarify what he meant by his initial post.
“Man yall made a mountain out of a molehill with this one,” he wrote on Saturday. “All these weirdly over dramatic comments about selling souls and satanic weird […] is just weird. lol.”
“I’ll be talking about all this on my wife’s podcast soon,” he continued.
Then, on Sunday, Jelly Roll indicated that he may delete his X account altogether.
“This is for sure the most toxic negative app to exist ever — PERIOD. lol,” he wrote. “This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man it’s insane.”
“It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean […] to each other with no consequences,” he concluded. “I’m out lol.”
Needless to say, The Mix will stay on top of this one!

Jelly Roll’s New Album
Earlier this month, Jelly Roll released his new album Beautifully Broken. This is Jelly Roll’s tenth studio album, and it includes 22 tracks.
“There’s a lot of storytelling on this album,” he told Taste Of Country ahead of the album’s October 11 release. “I wrote a probably hundred and some songs last year, maybe 150 plus, trying to figure this album out.”
Jelly Roll went on to say that each of the songs on this album were inspired by his fans.
“I’ve never been so inspired, though. I was getting so many stories,” he explained. “People were pouring into me. I’m at gas stations and red carpets and I’m hearing life stories from people — really inspiring stories. I’ve never wrote more.”
Jelly Roll has become known as one of the most down to earth celebrities in the country music world. If anyone is brave enough to expose the sliminess and corruption of the music industry, it’s him. Here’s hoping Jelly Roll follows through and actually does it!
