The singer Lizzo made headlines on Monday when she indicated that she was quitting music by declaring “I quit” in a blistering social media post. Just one day later, however, the 35 year-old “Juice” singer backtracked and announced that she would not be stopping making music after all.
Lizzo Announces ‘I QUIT’
It all started on Monday, when Lizzo took to Instagram to say that she is “getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.”
“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it,’ she wrote in her post. “But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.”
After whining that she’s “constantly being up against lies being told” about her and “being the butt of the joke every single time” because of her looks, Lizzo said that she “didn’t sign up for this sh**.”
“I QUIT,” she concluded.

Lizzo Backtracks
Just one day later, however, Lizzo came crawling back when she posted a video in which she revealed that she’s not actually quitting the music industry.
“When I saw I quit,” Lizzo began, explaining that she had meant that she’s going to “quit giving any negative energy attention.”
“What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting to people, ’cause I know I’m not alone,” she continued. “In no way, shape or form, am I the only person, who is experiencing that negative voice that seems to be louder than the positive.”
Lizzo went on to say that if she gave even just “one person the inspiration or motivation to stand up for themselves” against negativity from others, she was doing “more than” she “could have hoped for.”
“With that being said, I’m going to keep moving forward. I’m going to keep being me,” Lizzo concluded. “Once again, I just wanted to say thank you. The love I have received means more than you know.”

Sexual Harassment Claims Against Lizzo
This comes after a difficult few months for Lizzo. In August of last year, she was sued by three of her backup dancers for sexual harassment, racial discrimination, and creating a hostile working environment, according to Daily Mail. The allegations against Lizzo were particularly damning for her brand, given the fact that she promotes body positivity and being kind to others.
Lizzo’s initial post about quitting came days after the backup dancers’ lawyer Ron Zambrano slammed Joe Biden for having the singer perform at a $25 million fundraiser for him last Thursday at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.
“It’s shameful that Lizzo would be chosen to headline an event like this amid such egregious allegations,” Zambrano told NewsNation. “Without getting into the politics, I can’t imagine why anyone would want Lizzo representing them in any way given her reprehensible behavior. It’s just a terrible look.”

Lizzo is quite frankly the last type of role model that young girls should be looking up to, yet she’s exactly the kind of figure that is propped up by the left constantly these days.
It seems that just like a toddler, Lizzo decided to pick up her toys and go home after her performance for Biden was criticized. Like most egotistical stars, however, she couldn’t go more than a day without coming crawling back in a desperate bid for attention.
Here’s hoping that Lizzo reconsiders her decision to not quit the music industry very soon!
