ABC News is reporting that a suspect has been arrested after she rammed a U.S. Capitol Police car in an attempt to run over police officers.

Shots were also fired near the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., near Washington Ave. and Independence Ave. This is near the U.S. Botanic Garden and the Rayburn House office.

Details are emerging the suspect struck a Capitol Police cruiser and then tried to run over several officers who were on foot.
Here is footage from the scene. You can hear on bystander say “shots fired down there. Keep running that way.”
Fortunately, no one was hit by the suspect’s car. She was arrested on site.

The FBI is en route to the scene to assist Capitol Police.
Reports now indicate the suspect is female and she was arrested at 3rd and Independence Ave.
