Exciting news for fans of action and drama! Jake Gyllenhaal has officially agreed to reprise his role in the sequel to the hit movie Road House.

Following the success of the first film, Amazon Studios is gearing up for “Road House 2” (not the actual title) with Gyllenhaal set to return as Dalton.

The first Road House reboot – a reimagining of the 1989 cult classic of the same name, starring Patrick Swayze – premiered on Prime Video back in March.

In that short amount of time, it has amassed nearly 80 million worldwide viewers, which makes it the most-watched debut in the streaming platform’s history.

This overwhelming response has paved the way for the highly anticipated sequel. No details about the plot of “Road House 2” have been revealed yet, but fans no doubt will be eagerly awaiting to hear more.

Will Conor McGregor Join Jake Gyllenhaal For Second Road House Reboot?

Thus far, there is no word as to whether or not Conor McGregor will also reprise his role of Knox in the second Road House reboot with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Given his involvement in the first movie and the positive reception of his performance, there is a slight possibility that he might return for the sequel.

However, no official casting announcements have been made regarding his participation in the film, or the participation of any other cast members for that matter.

Plus, without giving away details of the first movie, there are certainly no guarantees regarding the how and the why of his being able to continue in the storyline.

The Original Road House

The original Road House movie, released in 1989, stars Patrick Swayze as Dalton, a bouncer with a degree in philosophy hired to clean up a notorious Missouri bar named the Double Deuce.

Yes, that was the plot. And yes it was … totally awesome.

Dalton’s efforts to reform the bar and its town are met with resistance from a ruthless businessman named Brad Wesley, played by Ben Gazzara.

The film’s success is more as a fan favorite of cheesy action and drama and has developed something of a cult following. The second Road House with Jake Gyllenhaal tries to capture that same energy.

McGregor’s character of Knox is so absurdly villainous that it’s difficult to take him seriously.

But if you’re in the right frame of mind, you’ll love the film. Hopefully, the sequel delivers just as much fun!
