Andrew Morton, the British journalist who laid bare Princess Diana’s marital troubles in his book, Diana: Her True Story in Her Own Words, has written a new biography about Meghan Markle – and the picture he paints of Prince Harry’s bride-to-be is far different than what she would have us believe.
In Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Morton describes Markle as a calculating social climber who’s not afraid to abruptly cut personal ties in order to advance herself and her career. Morton reveals that Markle was the one who abruptly ended her first marriage to film producer Trevor Engleson in 2013, when she returned her wedding and engagement rings to him by mail:
“[Engleson] went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, ‘Feeling like he was a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoe’.”
Meghan had moved from Los Angeles to Toronto, Canada, to film hit TV series Suits.
But when Trevor moved his office to New York to be near her, she called time on their marriage.
[..]
If that was not enough of a hint, Morton writes: “A wealthy entrepreneur friend claimed the marriage ended so abruptly that Meghan sent Trevor her diamond wedding and engagement rings back by registered mail.
“Another confirmed that the decision to end the marriage was made by Meghan and had come ‘totally out of the blue’.”
Furthermore, Morton writes of Markle’s long harbored aspirations of being a princess. He pinpoints Markle’s “obsession” with the British Royal Family to the day of Princess Diana’s funeral, which Markle and her friends watched with “tears coursing down their cheeks at the poignant moment when the cameras zoomed in on the royal coffin.”
From that moment on, according to Markle’s childhood friend Ninaki Priddy, Markle was “fascinated by the Royal Family. She wants to be Princess Diana 2.0.” Because of this, Morton’s book suggests that Markle’s statement to the British public that she “didn’t know very much about [Harry]” growing up was disingenuous.

However, critics of Morton’s book have slammed it as a “hodgepodge of stories, innuendo, and half-truths from former friends who have an axe to grind.”
I will not be buying the new Andrew Morton book. Based on the excerpts I have seen, it appears to be little more than a hodgepodge of stories, innuendo, and half-truths from former friends who have an axe to grind.

The base of this book by Andrew Morton is biased, unsigned and unconfirmed story by Meghan but from sick individuals who will sell anything for money. Traitors and dangerous individuals.
I hope this book flop as it s not based on true story.— Kate A 🇬🇧🇳🇬 (@KateGoldings) April 2, 2018
Andrew Morton on Meghan Markle “..(she)cancels lunches at short notice or expects ( friends) to rework their own schedules to accommodate (her)”. So Meghan is the same as us all. Does he get paid for writing this rubbish? The Sunday Times should be ashamed for giving it an airing.

Even if Markle were “obsessed” with Diana and the British Royal Family, lots of other young American girls growing up in the 1990s were, too. Furthermore, it seems unlikely that Prince Harry would have even bothered with Markle to begin with if she were truly half as calculating as Morton lets on. But rumor and speculation is par for the course when it comes to the Royal Family – and, luckily for Markle, she already learned how to deal with that in Hollywood.
