While everyone may not agree with some movie reboots, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle should be given a fair shot. Instead of two kids finding the board game in an abandoned house, four teenagers find the game console while in detention. This sets them on a collision course, becoming new characters who must overcome their differences to escape.

The film focuses on a scientist who gives enhanced intelligence to apes, resulting in the eventual downfall of human society and acting as a prequel to the original series.

4. Star Trek (2009)

1. Dune (2021)

One of the most recent movie reboots on our list is Denis Villeneuve’s 2021 version of Dune. Fans loved both editions of the famed science fiction novel adaptation. However, the acting and the CGI are leagues better in 2021. The film also brought Herbert’s books back to the forefront of science fiction and gave new life to the world. There has already been a Dune: Part Two, and several other additions are in the works.
