Iran is not taking President Trump’s threats to be tough on bad actors nicely.

The terror-sponsoring state test-fired a torpedo near the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday.

Three senior defense officials confirmed the test firing, though it’s unclear if the test was successful.

The torpedo test occurred within Iran’s territorial waters and didn’t break any international protocol.

The test also comes with rising tensions with Saudi Arabia. Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the man in charge of Saudi’s oil policy, declared, “We will not wait until the battle comes to Saudi Arabia but we will work to have the battle in Iran rather than in Saudi Arabia.”

Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan responded, “If the Saudis do anything ignorant, we will leave no area untouched except Mecca and Medina.

Defense officials say the torpedo can travel “about 12,000 yards (approximately six nautical miles) at a speed of about 200 knots per hour (approximately 250 miles per hour).”

Iran’s provocative moves come at a time of instability in the Middle East. I hope the leaders in Iran are smart enough not to provoke President Trump!
