Last week, we reported that California’s Democratic Party Leader Eric Bauman had called for a boycott of In-N-Out Burger after learning that the chain had donated thousands of dollars to the GOP. Now, Bauman is backing down with his tail between his legs after the chain’s owner refused to apologize and instead explained that In-N-Out donated to both the Democratic and Republican parties.
Breitbart reported that Bauman had taken to Twitter to blatantly call for the boycott.
Et tu In-N-Out? Tens of thousands of dollars donated to the California Republican Party… it’s time to #BoycottInNOut – let Trump and his cronies support these creeps… perhaps animal style!https://t.co/9zkdFaG5CJ

After In-N-Out fired back with logic and reason, however, Bauman tried to backtrack by claiming that the above tweet was not serious.
“There is no boycott,” Bauman claimed. “I put one tweet out at 10:30 at night and it turned into a whole thing. We’ve raised so much money in small donations as a result of that one tweet and so many people have engaged with that tweet, almost a million people, so it’s amazing how it became this big boycott.”
He went on to allege that he had never planned to actually boycott, even though he clearly started the hashtag #BoycottInNOut.
“Are you kidding me?” Bauman said as he tried to laugh it off. “I’m gonna buy my staff In-N-Out burgers to celebrate our victory [in November].”
Instead of simply admitting that he made a mistake and spread fake news, Bauman is going the classic Democrat route of pretty much saying that he was “just kidding.” Notice that he also offered no apology to In-N-Out and the chain’s thousands of employees whose jobs he put in danger with his careless words. Perhaps this careless Democrat should try and do a bit more research next time before risking the jobs of innocent American workers over some political nonsense!
