In what many consider a subtle act of aggression, a Chinese spy ship has been spotted sailing in international waters off the coast of Alaska over the past several days.

The ship arrived in the area right before the U.S. tested its THAAD missile defense system, designed to shoot down a ballistic missile from North Korea or other rogue nations.

A Captain with the U.S. Navy said that the Chinese ship is believed to be a “communications” or “intelligence” ship but would not discuss why the ship was near U.S. waters.

According to American military officials, the ship is approximately 100 miles off the Alaskan coast and its movements were perfectly legal and posed no security concerns.

CNN notes that U.S. ships also regularly sail in international waters near China, and some officials believe that the Chinese ship was there to observe our THAAD test, which the Communist regime opposes.

Despite U.S. effort, China has so far refused to cooperate with us in dissuading North Korea from its continued testing of nuclear weapons. As such, conditions on the Korean Peninsula continue to remain extremely tense.
