Casey DeLoach, a 73-year-old Army Veteran, noticed a Lake County Florida sheriff’s deputy refueling his department SUV and he decided to take action.
He crossed the parking lot and stood behind the Lake County sheriff’s deputy David Causey’s vehicle.
Causey described the situation on Facebook, “I noticed this gentleman show up out of nowhere, standing behind my patrol car scanning the area (apparently better than I had been).
A CFL deputy saw this man, thought the worst was gonna happen. The stunningly different truth @ 5:44 on #FOX35 News pic.twitter.com/bqxDTZ8UrM

After Causey finished fueling up, DeLoach spoke these amazing words to the officer, “Thank you sir for what you do. I have your back.”
Causey was in awe, “I just kind of stood there in shock, that an elderly man was willing to possibly put himself in danger to help me, a complete stranger.”
Fox35 followed up with DeLoach, who said he has been guarding police officers since the murder of Texas deputy Darren Goforth at a gas station in 2015.
This is just awesome. We all need to look at Casey Deloach as a shining example of what we should do. We need to stand up for our police officers and let them know we care about them!
