Jason Bateman asked Will Arnett if he ever did a “poo in front of” ex-wife Amy Poehler.
Personal Questions
A baffled Will, 56, refused to answer the personal question from Jason, 57, as the pair and fellow actor Sean Hayes, 55, had “potty talk” on the latest episode of their SmartLess podcast.
Jason said, “Sean and I love our power burps… I’ve definitely farted in front of you, Sean.”
Sean confirmed that the Zootopia 2 star had “definitely farted on” him, but after Jason noted that “Willie doesn’t”, he went on to ask the outrageous question.
Jason wondered, “So then, Will… Did you ever poo in front of Amy?”
A stunned Will replied, “Are you looking for clicks? Are you trying to get something that we can click around?”
Arrested Development’s Jason pressed for an answer, noting that the Lego Batman actor was married to comedian-and-actress Amy, 54, from 2003 until 2016. They share two sons: Archie, 17, and 15-year-old Abel, 15.
Jason then quipped, “You guys never went to the bathroom in front of each other?”
But Will continued to reject the question, responding, “I’m sorry. The question is, did I poo in front of Amy? And you’re saying that I don’t have manners. What are you talking about? It’s not a good question. I refuse to answer it.”
Divorced Yet Close
Although Will and Amy split in 2012 after nine years of marriage and finalized their divorce in 2016, they remain close.
Amy appeared on an April 2025 episode of the SmartLess podcast, and Will took an opportunity to praise the Saturday Night Live alum for being a top mom.
He said, “I have to try really hard, but Amy, you’re really good at this, and you help me do this in concert with you, to remember to listen to what they’re saying and to not try to impose what I think, ‘You need this, you need that.'”
“To actually sit and listen to what your kid is trying to say. Encourage them to, as much as they can, to speak. I don’t come by it naturally because that’s not how I was raised.”
Proud of Co-Parenting

The Twisted Metal cast member is “really proud” of his and Amy’s co-parenting relationship.
Will added, “Of course, things take a minute because everybody is sort of adjusting to what it is. I’m also very proud of, certainly as parents, what we’ve been able to do. That has been really important to both of us. I’m really, really lucky to have her as a partner in this way.”
“There aren’t many people I speak to more than I speak to her, which is weird, you know what I mean. But it’s great. I feel really lucky.”
“She’s the person that I go like, ‘Hey, I’m thinking about doing this.’ Whether it’s life or work, I really seek her counsel because it’s important to me, because I trust her. She’s awesome.”
