Things got weird on the ABC talk show The View once again on Tuesday morning. This time, the show’s moderator Whoopi Goldberg threw a massive tantrum over being interrupted by her co-hosts.
Goldberg Throws Huge Tantrum On Live TV
Towards the end of yesterday’s show, Goldberg, 70, asked the panel if pickleball should be taken seriously. Her co-host Ana Navarro immediately cut her off, saying, “I feel attacked here!”
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin chimed in to insist that pickleball is “harder than it looks” as Goldberg attempted to say something else. Co-hosts Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin expressed their thoughts as well, with the women on the panel all talking over one another.
Goldberg desperately tried to steer the conversation away and get the panel back under control. Her efforts failed miserably, however, and she began to become visibly frustrated.
“But, I say to you people…” Navarro said.
That’s when Goldberg cut her off and really lost it.
“Listen, hush up! Let me finish so I can close the thing up!” Goldberg screamed.
Navarro responded to Goldberg’s tantrum by predicting that this moment would make headlines. She ended up being correct, as multiple outlets have reported on it since yesterday.

Goldberg Allegedly On Thin Ice At The View
Goldberg has been the moderator on The View since 2007. During that time, Goldberg has put her foot in her mouth on multiple occasions as she expresses her oftentimes shocking views on various topics. Indeed, Goldberg often makes headlines for all the wrong reasons, making her a bit of a headache for ABC executives to deal with at times.
It appears that this could now all be catching up with Goldberg. Last month, insiders told Daily Mail that there are rumors on the set of The View that producers are preparing to replace Goldberg.
Earlier this year, the conservative Elisabeth Hasselbeck, 48, returned to The View as a guest host. She was filling in for Alyssa Farah Griffin, 36, who had been on maternity leave.
Hasselbeck was the token conservative on The View from 2003 until 2013, when she left to go to Fox News. During her time on the ABC talk show, she was known for her verbal battles with her liberal co-hosts, especially Goldberg.
One ABC insider claimed that Hasselbeck’s return to The View was carefully orchestrated by savvy producers. According to this source, the producers encouraged Hasselbeck to challenge Goldberg as much as possible in order to elevate the tension on the panel.
“Producers were telling Hasselbeck to push Goldberg and the [other panelist] ladies even harder,” the ABC insider told Radar Online. “They know what makes great television – and they wanted sparks. Conflict equals ratings.”
Other ABC staffers said that producers privately assured Goldberg that Hasselbeck’s time on The View would only be temporary. However, they may not have been being honest with her.
“Elisabeth’s return could be part of a longer play,” said one insider. “Some people think she’s being used to slowly nudge Whoopi toward the exit.”

Goldberg Desperate To Stay On The View
This has come as bad news to Goldberg, who is more desperate than ever to stay on The View. Despite having a net worth of $30-60 million, Goldberg has long claimed that she can’t financially “afford” to leave The View.
“Who can afford to do that? If you don’t marry well, you’ve got to keep working,” she told Entertainment Tonight in September of last year when asked if she’d ever leave The View. “I’ve got to keep paying those bills, baby.”
Goldberg made similar comments live on The View in 2024.
“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me, too. I work for a living,” she said at the time. “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, okay? So, I’m a working person, you know?”
Judging by Goldberg’s latest temper tantrum, it appears that the pressure of all of this might finally be getting to her. Only time will tell how much longer Goldberg can stick around on The View.
