The ABC talk show The View went off the rails once again this week. This time, however, the fiery exchange culminated in moderator Whoopi Goldberg turning on her liberal co-host Sunny Hostin, screaming at her to “calm down!”
The View Derails In Fiery Exchange
It all started during a segment in which The View co-hosts debated whether or not Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) should be forgiven by Democrats for her past comments now that she’s turned on President Donald Trump. Surprisingly, the radically liberal co-host Joy Behar was in favor of welcoming Greene into the fold.
“I always will welcome. You’ve seen the light? Come right into my tent, there’s a lot of room for the never-Trumpers and the non-Trumpers,” said Behar, 83.
This didn’t sit well with co-host Sara Haines, 48, who made it clear that she has no intention of forgiving Greene.
“She still believes the election was stolen,” Haines argued. “These details matter. Just because she’s like, ‘I don’t like Trump,’ I’m not like, ‘Great, welcome aboard!'”
“So what would we do? Reject her altogether?” Behar questioned.
That’s when Hostin, who might just be the furthest left at the table, chimed in to offer her two cents.
“Yes! We should reject her altogether,” exclaimed Hostin, 57.
Not backing down, Behar fought back by asking why they wouldn’t “just take the win.”
“Why are you so welcoming, Joy?” Hostin fired back as the exchange took a heated turn.
“I don’t hold grudges. If they want to come over to my side, I’m taking them,” Behar responded. “Because she speaks to the MAGA base and she has a way of getting through to them.”
Goldberg Weighs In As Fight Escalates
Goldberg, 70, agreed with Behar’s point that Greene might be able to get through to Trump voters in a way that the left can’t.
“Correct, but in terms of welcoming her with open arms like Joy wants to do and give a big bear hug…” Hostin replied. This caused Behar to quip, “I’m not going on vacation with her!”
“I’m not going to do that. I just think that if you voted for Donald Trump three times, when you voted for him this last election when we told you what was gong to happen… This country is on fire. We are in trouble,” Hostin continued. “You need her, but you need to welcome her. I’m sorry, it’s unforgivable.”
The segment really started to go off the rails when Alyssa Farah Griffin, who previously worked in the Trump administration, spoke up to offer her thoughts. She attempted to say that she agreed with Behar. However, this only led to Hostin cutting her off in frustration.
“You want to give Marjorie Taylor Greene a big bear hug?” Hostin asked.
Griffin kept trying to speak, but Hostin continually talked over.
That’s when Goldberg lost it on her fellow liberal.
“Let her tell you what she wants to do. Stop! Calm down!” Goldberg screamed.
Goldberg Ends Segment
This was enough to shut a chastised Hostin up long enough for Griffin to make her point. Goldberg later ended the segment with a message to those at home.
“If you don’t tell them [to stand against Trump], they’re going to continue to believe there’s nothing wrong here,” Goldberg concluded. “If you’re saying there’s something wrong, there must be something wrong, because you voted with him 99 percent of the time. It’s not a bear hug, it’s like, okay, finally, glad you saw the light, go and tell it on the mountain, tell your people!”

The View often descends into chaos with the co-hosts fighting one another. However, it’s rare to see two liberal panelists like Goldberg and Hostin turn on each other this aggressively.
In the end, this clip serves as a reminder of how ridiculous and infuriating it is that these five women have a national platform to spread their nonsense on a daily basis.
