Whoopi Goldberg has been finding herself in hot water on her ABC talk show The View quite a bit as of late. Given how unpopular she appears to be at the moment, the latest announcement that she’s made about her career may come as a shock.
Goldberg’s Career Announcement
On a recent episode of The View, Goldberg revealed that she’s agreed to have a documentary made about her life. She told her co-hosts that the documentary will be produced by her friend, director Gheeta Gandbhir. Also taking part in the documentary will be Imagine Documentaries, Message Pictures, and One Hoe Productions.
Though many would argue otherwise, Goldberg is insistent that now is the perfect time to tell her life story.
“So, for many years, people have been asking me to do a documentary about me,” Goldberg claimed. “I have been me for a very long time, so, if you want to know who I went out with, when, what color he was … it’s all there. So, there’s not a lot that I think is going to be interesting. But I think of myself very differently than other people do. So, it’s an opportunity to learn more about me.”
“The biggest misconception is that I am one thing,” she continued. “I am many things. I think many different ways, and sometimes I’m right, and sometimes I’m wrong. I’ve been an open book for this very reason.”

Documentarians Speak Out
Gandbhir has since confirmed to Variety that this documentary really is happening.
“Whoopi Goldberg is a brilliant and groundbreaking storyteller who has shaped the landscape of entertainment for years,” Gandbhir said. “I, along with my partners Sam Pollard and Alisa Payne at Message Pictures, Whoopi’s long-time producing partner Tom Leonardis, President of Whoop, Inc, and Imagine Documentaries are honored to bring her story to life in this documentary.”
“Imagine is thrilled to reunite with my friend and longtime collaborator the exceptional Geeta Gandbhir, Tom Leonardis and Message Pictures on this extraordinary opportunity to celebrate the singular icon that is Whoopi Goldberg,” added Sara Bernstein, President of Imagine Documentaries. “The world needs more Whoopi!”
But do we really need more Whoopi? Because it seems to us like we get more than enough Whoopi, given the fact that she goes on The View to spew her nonsense every weekday morning.
Goldberg Allegedly On Thin Ice At ABC
Goldberg has spent years frequently putting her foot in her mouth on The View. The people behind this documentary can treat Goldberg like she’s some kind of legend all that she wants to, but her ignorant behavior is reportedly starting to catch up with her.
Indeed, news of the documentary comes amidst rumors that Goldberg is on thin ice at ABC. According to these claims, ABC executives have been tiring of her nonsense as of late. The increasingly constant backlash that Goldberg is receiving from fans is seeming only making their frustrations with her worse.
Back in October, an insider claimed that ABC executives are so fed up with Goldberg’s nonsense that they are “looking hard at a refresh — maybe even a total overhaul” of The View’s panel.
“Executives are tired of cleaning up her messes,” the insider alleged. “Patience is running out.”

Perhaps Gandbhir and everyone else behind this upcoming Goldberg documentary should think twice before moving forward to it. In the end, it seems that the bulk of the public has finally had enough of Goldberg, so any documentary made about her life is likely to flop.
Good riddance, Whoopi Goldberg!
