The ABC talk show The View went off the rails once again on Thursday morning when Whoopi Goldberg was attacked by a flying object on live television.
Goldberg Chased By Flying Object
During yesterday’s show, Goldberg and her co-host Sara Haines tried to spread Christmas joy with a special toy segment. That’s how a pair of unidentified flying objects ended up hovering over their heads.
Haines tried to touch one of the flying objects, both of which glistened with green, yellow, and red lights for the holiday season as it flew around.
“It’ll come down, it’ll come down, it’ll come down, it’ll come down,” the segment guest pledged as the object continued to ominously fly over Haines.
That’s when Goldberg leapt into action. Indeed, she grabbed one of the objects before tossing it back in the air. This appeared to aggravate the object, which immediately flew back at her. A visibly panicked Goldberg was then forced to duck to avoid the object as it continued to fly around her.
“When they lower themselves, and here’s how we turn it off…” the segment guest attempted to continue.
“We lost Whoopi!” Haines interrupted her to exclaim as the camera showed Goldberg chasing the flying object to the corner of the studio.
An exhausted Goldberg finally managed to retrieve the object and return to join Haines and the guest. Moments later, the bizarre segment mercifully came to an end.
Goldberg’s Two-Week Break
Goldberg may have been a little bit rusty, given the fact that she only just returned to The View from a two-week hiatus. Indeed, Goldberg came back to the talk show on Monday only to reveal that she had been gone for a few weeks to film a guest role for an Italian soap opera.
“We should say ‘bienvenuto,’” Goldberg’s co-host Ana Navarro said at the start of Monday[s show, “’cause I think this [expletive] has forgotten to speak English.”
“I don’t know what language I’m thinking in,” Goldberg replied with a laugh. “What time zone I’m in?”
Wasn’t that true BEFORE you left for Italy, Whoopi?!
Getting serious, Goldberg told her co-hosts that her time in Europe “was really good.”
“I learned a lot because I’d never done a soap opera before,” she admitted. “And so doing a soap opera in a different language, in a different country, made for a really interesting time. It was great.”
However, Goldberg made sure to make it clear to her co-hosts that she wasn’t on vacation by sending them plenty of videos from her time on the soap opera’s set.
“I just wanted y’all to know I was actually working,” Goldberg explained.
‘It Rained Every Day…’
Though she was in Naples, a city internationally known for its beauty, Goldberg wasn’t a fan of it.
“It rained every day,” she whined. “And I don’t mean like, ‘Oh, it’s raining, how beautiful.’ It was like, ‘rain, rain, storm, thunder.’ It was crazy.”
Being in one of the best places in the world and still finding ways to complain about it? Sounds pretty on brand for Whoopi Goldberg!

It’s both baffling and infuriating that ABC continues to give Goldberg a platform to spread her nonsense on a daily basis. Yesterday’s bizarre flying toy segment only serves as further proof that Goldberg has no business being on TV.
