Things got weird on the ABC talk show The View once again on Tuesday morning when Whoopi Goldberg stepped up to cool down the former Saturday Night Live! star Leslie Jones. This came after Jones, 58, had a hot flash live on air.
Jones Has Hot Flash On Live TV
Jones was in the middle of being interviewed on The View when she confessed that she was having hot flash. She also revealed that she is currently going through menopause.
“I’m always hot, babe. I’m in menopause, that pause,” Jones said. “Oh, I’m in it. I am pause. You know what I’m saying? The heat that comes off of me can light a small city in Guadalajara.”
The hosts continued to ask Jones about her upcoming comedy special, but the swearing quickly became too much for her. Losing her ability to concentrate, Jones got up and dabbed her face with a towel.
“I’m spritzing,” she stated.
That’s when Goldberg, 70, stepped up and began wiping Jones down herself. Getting up out of her seat, Goldberg walked over to Jones and dabbed her forehead while also fanning her with a towel.
“I can die now,” Jones said in response. “This is a dream come true. Whoopi Goldberg, wiping my sweat.”
“I remember this… You are in it,” Goldberg replied.
Goldberg Blows On Jones
Goldberg even resorted to blowing on Jones in a desperate attempt to cool the comedian down.
“Just blow yourself all on me, baby,” Jones said as she tried to embrace the moment. “That’s so sad that my whole spot is gonna be about me sweating.”
The show then mercifully cut to a commercial break. When it returned, co-host Joy Behar revealed that Jones had been given a handheld fan, saying that should take care of her sweating. By then, however, Jones said that the hot flash had passed.
“I’m good now, I’m freezing,” she quipped as the entire panel burst out laughing.
That certainly wasn’t how anyone was expecting that segment to go! Check it out for yourself in the video below.
Goldberg Returns To The View After Hiatus
This comes after Goldberg returned to The View from a two-week hiatus. Indeed, Goldberg came back to the talk show last week only to reveal that she had been gone for a few weeks to film a guest role for an Italian soap opera.
“We should say ‘bienvenuto,’” Goldberg’s co-host Ana Navarro said at the start of Monday’s show, “’cause I think this [expletive] has forgotten to speak English.”
“I don’t know what language I’m thinking in,” Goldberg replied with a laugh. “What time zone I’m in?”
Wasn’t that true BEFORE you left for Italy, Whoopi?!
Getting serious, Goldberg told her co-hosts that her time in Europe “was really good.”
“I learned a lot because I’d never done a soap opera before,” she admitted. “And so doing a soap opera in a different language, in a different country, made for a really interesting time. It was great.”
However, Goldberg made sure to make it clear to her co-hosts that she wasn’t on vacation by sending them plenty of videos from her time on the soap opera’s set.
“I just wanted y’all to know I was actually working,” Goldberg explained.
It certainly seems like there’s never a dull moment over there at The View. We can only imagine what Whoopi and her fellow co-hosts will get up to next!
