Whoopi Goldberg had yet another meltdown on her ABC talk show The View on Wednesday morning. This time, the target of her rage was Christians who save seats for others in church.

Goldberg’s Latest Meltdown

During a bizarre Hot Topics segment, the women of The View discussed whether or not it’s alright to save seats for others in public places. Goldberg, 70, quickly took over the conversation and specifically called out Christians who save seats for other people in church.

“To me, here’s the biggest reason you don’t want to do that, is because you want people to be on time,” Goldberg said of saving seats in church. “You don’t want them to start thinking, oh, somebody’s going to hold this for me, and you don’t have to work on getting your behind out of there to get there on time. Don’t do that!”

“If you’re at a place and you see all these empty seats, I’m telling you now, if you come down, I’m gonna be in your chair, because I paid just like you paid,” she continued.

“I think it’s okay to move the towel,” co-host Sunny Hostin, 57, said of saving seats at pools.

“Yeah, because people put books there, pocketbook, I’ll put it right under there,” Goldberg said.

Goldberg proceeded to dramatically fall back in her chair as she showed exactly how she would luxuriate after moving someone’s belongings to sit in a seat herself.

Goldberg Doubles Down

“I think you can move it,” Hostin responded. Goldberg fired back by exclaiming, “Hell yeah, you can move it!”

“But it shouldn’t be okay for anybody to do it,” Goldberg added. “If you’re at a thing, you should have the right, the same rights as everybody else in that building or apartment complex, unless you’re having a party and you let everyone know you’re doing that.”

Goldberg’s co-host chimed in to warn that physical altercations could happen over saving seats in public.

“You don’t want to do that with us,” Goldberg concluded. “Because we will hit back. I’m just saying!”

Goldberg Desperate To Stay On The View

Goldberg’s meltdowns are becoming more and more frequent on The View. This has led to speculation that her days on the talk show may be numbered. Those rumors have come as bad news to Goldberg, as she has long claimed that she can’t financially “afford” to leave The View despite having an estimated net worth of $30-60 million.

“Who can afford to do that? If you don’t marry well, you’ve got to keep working,” she told Entertainment Tonight in September of last year. “I’ve got to keep paying those bills, baby.”

Goldberg made similar comments live on The View in 2024.

“I appreciate that people are having a hard time. Me, too. I work for a living,” she said at the time. “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, okay? So, I’m a working person, you know?”

With everything going on in the world, people saving seats for others in church seems like a bizarre thing to have a meltdown over. Only time will tell how much longer ABC executives think it’s worth it to keep someone as unhinged as Goldberg on The View.
