Whoopi Goldberg insulted her own audience of her ABC talk show The View on Tuesday morning. Much to their shock, she implied that many of them aren’t physically good looking.
Goldberg Insults Her Own Audience
Things got weird right from the start of Tuesday morning’s episode of The View. It began with Goldberg and her co-hosts walking out to their Hot Topics table, just as they always do. They flashed beaming smiles as the audience applauded them while they took their seats.
“Hey! Hey! Yes!” Goldberg, 70, exclaimed to the audience as they continued to cheer.
Goldberg’s co-host Joy Behar, 83, chimed in to praise the audience’s looks.
“You know, we have the best-looking audience. Just look at this. Gorgeous!” Behar gushed.
Goldberg then had a reaction to this that was nothing short of bizarre. Instead of adding on to what Behar had to say, Goldberg was quick to disagree when it comes to the physical appearance of their audience.
“We don’t always get good-looking audiences,” Goldberg admitted, referring to those who come to watch their show in their New York City studio.
The camera then panned to show the audience’s stunned reactions.
Appearing to realize her mistake, Goldberg tried to save herself by saying, “but, you all are particularly good-looking today.”
The damage, however, was already done. Many would argue that this was actually a freudian slip of sorts. Indeed, it seems that Goldberg accidentally revealed just how little she thinks of those who tune in to The View every day.

Goldberg’s Previous Controversial Comments
This comes months after insiders claimed that ABC executives are getting “tired” of Goldberg and her nonsense. Their frustrations with her reportedly grew in September when Goldberg claimed that she can’t “afford” to retire.
This came as a shock to many, since Goldberg makes $8 million a year co-hosting The View. She also has an estimated net worth of between $30 million and $60 million.
Goldberg made these remarks when Goldberg she was asked by Entertainment Tonight if she was considering “slowing down” at all after her 70th birthday in November.
“Who can afford to do that?” an incredulous Goldberg fired back.
“If you don’t marry well, you gotta keep working,” Goldberg shockingly went on to claim.
The reporter, who was seemingly stunned by the Sister Act star’s response, pointed out that Goldberg “could probably afford” to retire. However, she wasn’t having any of it. Instead, Goldberg responded, “No, not by now. Not yet.”
“I gotta keep paying those bills, baby,” she concluded.
ABC Executives ‘Tired’ Of Goldberg
This did not sit well with ABC executives, who are becoming increasingly wary of Goldberg.
“It’s tone-deaf,” said one ABC insider. “Everyday people are struggling, and Whoopi’s crying poor on daytime TV. It makes her look completely out of touch.”
The source went on to allege that ABC executives are so fed up with Goldberg that they are “looking hard at a refresh — maybe even a total overhaul” of The View’s panel.
“Executives are tired of cleaning up her messes,” the insider concluded. “Patience is running out.”
Goldberg’s latest comments insulting the way the audience of The View looks will certainly do nothing to endear her to ABC executives. Only time will tell if Goldberg can actually last on The View for the rest of 2026!
