The Boston Blue star Donnie Wahlberg has been married to the comedic actress Jenny McCarthy for twelve years. In the crazy world of Hollywood especially, that’s quite a long time!
Unlike many celebrity couples in Hollywood, Wahlberg and McCarthy’s relationship revolves around their mutual strong Christian faith. Indeed, Wahlberg just spoke out to reveal the faith date nights that he enjoys sharing with his beloved wife.
Faith Date Nights
While attending the 2026 iHeartRadio Awards last month, Wahlberg told Fox News that he and McCarthy like to watch shows like The Chosen, which
“Other than stuff like this,” began Wahlberg, 56, referring to the award show, “Date night for us though typically looks like… we make a big plan, we’re about to get ready, and then we say, ‘Ah, let’s stay in and watch The Chosen.'”
“And then we watch The Chosen. That’s kind of like date nights nowadays,” he added.

McCarthy, 53, was quick to agree, saying, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s definitely takeout and sitting back.”
McCarthy went on to say that she was enjoying to see her fellow 50-somethings still presenting at the 2026 iHeartRadio Awards.
“Well, date night… this is a fun night for us!” McCarthy gushed. “You know what I mean? I said to Donnie, the fact that we’ve got some 50-year-olds in the house still being asked to present is not too shabby!”
“You know what I mean?” she added. “Back in my days of MTV, I was a little 20-something going like, ‘Oh my god!’ Now I’m in my 50s going, ‘OK, we’re still here, we’re presenting, you’re still a rock star.'”
Wahlberg And McCarthy’s History
Wahlberg and McCarthy met back in 2013 when he appeared on her former talk show The Jenny McCarthy Show. Sparks flew immediately, and they married one year later in 2014.
Twelve years later, they are still madly in love. They even have a unique tradition of renewing their wedding vows every single year. Indeed, in 2024, McCarthy revealed that they’d renewed their vows a total of ten times at that point.
“I used to make fun of celebrities when they would do it, or people in general, when they renew their vows,” McCarthy confessed at the time. “I’m like, ‘That’s so corny and weird. Your wedding’s over. Just stay married,’ and then Donnie — this is a tradition Donnie wanted to implement.”
“He’s like, ‘I want to remind each other of our vows’ and talk about — like our pastor reminisces about the year and gives us a thing to think about as the year goes on,” she added. “So, there is something nice about it.”
Wahlberg And McCarthy’s Hollywood Careers
These days, Wahlberg and McCarthy are each still as busy as ever with their respective jobs in Hollywood.
Wahlberg is currently starring on the new CBS police drama Boston Blue. This is the spinoff of the long-running series Blue Bloods, which Wahlberg had starred in from 2010 until it was ended in 2024. Meanwhile, McCarthy has been a judge on The Masked Singer on Fox ever since it premiered back in 2019.
Last year, Wahlberg and McCarthy also hosted Very Scary Lovers together on Investigation Discovery.
