Vanna White is defiantly refusing to compare her Wheel of Fortune co-hosts Pat Sajak and Ryan Seacrest. Indeed, according to her, the two men are like “apples and oranges.”

White Refuses To Compare Sajak And Seacrest

Sajak, 79, hosted Wheel of Fortune from 1981 until he retired in 2024. White, 69, joined him in 1982, and she is still co-hosting the iconic game show to this day. Sajak was replaced by the American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, 51, who now c0-hosts Wheel of Fortune with White.

When asked to compare Sajak and Seacrest, White declined to do so.

“I would say it’s comparing apples to oranges,” White told Entertainment Weekly. “They’re both great. Everybody has their own style, and people watching the show can see their personality.”

“You’ve watched Pat for years and you see how he is, and you watch Ryan and you see how he is,” she continued. “They’re both incredible to work with and easy to work with. And I, of course, have enjoyed working with both of them!”

White Crocheting Passion

White is known to be passionate about crocheting. She confirmed that both Sajak and Seacrest have received the same homemade gift from her.

“I make blankets and give them away to all my friends,” she said. “I made Ryan one, I made Pat one, and I made them for all my friends that have had babies.”

White has been crocheting ever since she was a child.

“My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was a little girl, and then I put it away,” she explained. “As a teenager, I don’t want to crochet. And I picked it up, goodness, probably 30 years ago. And it’s just a great hobby for me. It’s very therapeutic. And my blankets are homemade gifts that you can’t buy.”

White’s Work-Life Balance

Wheel of Fortune only films a few days a month. This allows White to have a healthy work-life balance.

“Fortunately, our schedule has been that way for the 40-plus years I’ve done the show,” she stated. “So with my kids growing up, it was always great. I could take them to school. I could make cookies after school or help them with their homework.”

These days, the Wheel of Fortune production schedule is allowing White to pursue some new activities.

“Today, obviously my kids are grown,” she said. “And my biggest thing now is playing golf. That’s my little hobby. I love to play golf when I’m not filming.”

In the end, White is hoping that Wheel of Fortune will continue to be popular for many years to come.

“We do whatever we can to make it better,” White concluded. “We’re always looking to keep it fresh. I have worn over 8,000 dresses on the show, so every single day you’re going to see me in a new dress, you’re going to see new puzzles, you’re going to see new jokes and new contestants and new winners. So I think we keep it pretty fresh. People still watch and enjoy the show, and I hope they will continue to.”

White is a true living legend, and there will never be another one like her. We can only hope that she remains on Wheel of Fortune for many years to come.

God bless you, Vanna White!
