Tori Spelling has opened up about her changing approach to dating, romance, and intimacy following her split from ex-husband Dean McDermott, revealing she is not currently focused on relationships but expects significant physical changes after starting hormone replacement therapy.

Shifting Priorities

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress, 53, appeared on Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast. She discussed life after her divorce, which was finalized last year, and how her priorities have shifted toward her children and career.

Spelling said, “No one asks me out. I’m so focused right now on work and kids that I don’t know. I’m not in my, like, ‘I-want-a-date era.’”

She explained that even the idea of dating feels like too much at this stage in her life.

Tori Spelling said, “I can’t imagine sitting at dinner and making small talk … that sounds exhausting.”

When Rosenbaum asked whether she might be open to casual dating or “no-nonsense, non-committal sex,” Spelling was quick to shut down the idea, at least for now.

She replied, “No, I mean, maybe in the future, but right now, no.”

Hormone Replacement Therapy

However, Spelling revealed that she has recently started hormone replacement therapy (HRT), which she believes may change her outlook in time.

Tori Spelling began, “I just got hormone replacement or whatever, so I’m told I’m going to have -“

Rosenbaum interjected, “You’re going to be horny.”

Spelling confirmed, “Sex urges through the roof.”

Despite the comment, she made it clear she is not currently expecting a sudden surge in romantic opportunities.

Clarifying that she refers to what younger people call ‘body count,’ Spelling said, “I’m a numbers girl. I’m a numbers girl. Always have been.”

Ideas of Attraction

Tori Spelling went on to explain that her idea of attraction has shifted significantly with age and life experience, saying she is now far more interested in intellectual connection than physical encounters.

She said, “These days, what I’m looking for is very different now, I think in my life, than when I was younger. I just want that mental stimulation. I like to be challenged.”

The actress also spoke openly about her fears surrounding dating after divorce, particularly as a mother of five children.

Referring to her children Liam, 19, Stella, 18, Hattie, 14, Finn, 13, and Beau, nine, whom she has with McDermott, Spelling said, “I always worried about this in life. Like, if I ever got a divorce, no one’s going to date me with five kids.”
