The Hollywood star Tim Allen of Home Improvement fame is celebrating after he finished reading the entire Bible. It took him just thirteen months to complete this impressive journey.
‘Finished The Entire Bible…’
“Finished the entire Bible it’s been a 13 month word by word page by page no skimming journey,” Allen, 72, wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
“Humbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned,” he added. “I will rest and meditate on so much. I will begin it again.”
Allen had previously been open about his determination to read the entire Bible.
“Never took the time in all my years to ever read and really read the Bible,” Allen previously wrote on social media. “Currently almost through the Jerusalem Bible Old Testament and almost done with the Prophets. Next up to New Testament.”
“So far amazing and not at all what I was expecting,” he continued.
Allen’s Christian Journey
Allen has long been open about his Christian faith and his journey to finding God. He was only 11 years-old when his father was killed by a drunk driver. This caused Allen to question his faith.
“For years, I just did not like this idea of God, church,” he told ABC News back in 2011. “(I was) still a churchgoer, but constantly a cynic.”
This all changed after Allen was arrested in 1978 with over a pound of cocaine. He subsequently spent two years in prison, where he found God again. Ever since then, Allen has been a proud believer. These days, he refers to God as “The Builder.”
In 2022, Allen revealed that he went above and beyond to ensure that his Disney+ series The Santa Clauses incorporated Christianity into it.
“I always do ask … The Builder, what did you want me to do?” Allen told The Wrap. “And I do ask it. But you got to be prepared for the answer. Whoever built me, this is too much, too weird that it happened by accident. It didn’t happen by accident.”
“It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters, and ghosts, and goblins. I said no, this is Christ-mas. It’s Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday,” Allen adamantly added. “We don’t have to blow trumpets, but I do want you to acknowledge it. That’s what this is about. If you want to get into Santa Claus, you’re gonna have to go back to history, and it’s all about religion.”
Thanks to Allen, multiple episodes of the series included religious elements. Allen confessed that it was “really wonderful” to see this happen, adding that the show “took a chance, and we did it very well.”
‘Christmas Is About Giving…’
Allen later stated that The Santa Clauses had a message about how powerful giving to others can be.
“The heart of Christmas is about giving. Getting is what we’ve gotten used to. … But the whole thing is about what it’s like to give,” Allen previously explained. “Give as a father to his children. … It is so [magical].”
Allen has long been known as one of the only openly conservative Christians in Hollywood. We applaud him for successfully reading the Bible in its entirety.
God bless you, Tim Allen!
