Over the past few years, celebrities have been fleeing California in droves in search of better lives in other states. One of these celebrities is the Rocky star Sylvester Stallone, who left Hollywood in 2024 and moved to Florida.

Stallone Has No Regrets

In a new interview, Stallone is revealing that he has no regrets about making this major move.

“I love it,” Stallone, 79, told Fox News of Florida. “First of all, the air seems to always be clean. We’re very, very near the water and that makes my wife incredibly happy. It makes me happy, and it’s just something about it. It’s just so lush.”

“I went to college there for a couple of years,” he concluded. “So, I’m not a stranger to the environment, but it fits my personality much better.”

Stallone Tells Daughters About The Move

Last year, on the season two premiere of their reality show The Family Stallone, Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin left Los Angeles for good.

“After long, hard consideration, your mother and I have decided, time to move on and leave the state of California permanently, and we’re going to go to Florida,” Stallone was seen telling their three daughters Scarlet, Sistine and Sophia.

“We’re gonna sell this house,” he added. “We already have the place, it’s a done deal.”

Casey DeSantis, wife of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, took to social media at the time to welcome the Stallone family to the Sunshine State.

“Welcome to the Free State of Florida!” she wrote alongside a clip of Stallone telling his daughters about the move. “In addition to respecting and protecting your God-given, constitutional right to be free, you can also buy toothpaste without having an armed guard in CVS unlock it for you.”

The Stallones Settle In Palm Beach

The Stallones have settled in Palm Beach, where they bought a $35.4 million home. The mansion sits on approximately 1.5 lakefront acres. It also faces over 250 feet of beach with a dock.

“It’s an incredible move, I have to say I’m really happy with our move and our change,” Flavin, 57, said in a previous interview.

“I was born and raised there, two of our kids were born there, but now everyone’s out, our daughters moved to the East Coast … so there wasn’t really anything left for me in California,” she continued. “A few of our best friends also moved, so I think it’s [a] good change, just making new friends, living a totally different lifestyle, I love it, I’m really happy.”

Stallone himself has also opened up about this fresh start in the past. In his Netflix documentary Sly, he revealed how this relocation has been beneficial to his creativity.

“I wasn’t moving because, ‘Oh, wow, I wanted another beautiful view,'” he explained. “Any time changing that paradigm which you become used to, it’s literally to jump-start that process again.”

The Stallones ‘Needed A Change’

Flavin chimed back in to say that when it came to this move, it was simply time for a change for her family.

]”I think California is probably the most beautiful state in the United States, I absolutely love it, but I just needed a change,” she admitted. “I felt like I’ve been there long enough, and life is short, so I wanted to make a change and not just be sitting in one house the rest of my life.”

Given the high taxes, rampant crime rates, and overwhelming homelessness in California, it’s no wonder that the rich and famous are fleeing the state in droves. Here’s hoping that the Stallones continue to enjoy life in the great state of Florida for many years to come!
