It’s been nine months since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. Now, surprising new reports are coming out about the five children that Lopez and Affleck share between themselves from their respective previous marriages.
Lopez And Affleck’s Children Are Still Close
Insiders are claiming that even though Lopez, 56, and Affleck, 53, are no longer together, the bond between their blended family is still going strong.
“Things between Ben and Jennifer are good,” an Affleck source told People Magazine. “Even though they’re not together anymore, they’ve stayed on friendly terms.”
Indeed, according to this source, Affleck and Lopez’s children are still close to one another. Affleck shares three children with his ex-wife, the Alias actress Jennifer Garner, 53: Violet, 19, Seraphina (also known as Finn), 16, and Samuel, 13. Meanwhile, Lopez and her singer ex-husband Marc Anthony, 56, are parents to twins Max and Emme, 17.
As you can tell, the five children are all similar ages, so they quickly developed strong bonds with one another.
“The kids are still really close,” the Affleck source alleged. “They have the same groups of friends, they see each other and they talk all the time. They make sure the kids know they get along. The most important thing to both of them is raising their kids in a supportive environment, so they plan to stay in each other’s lives.”
A source close to Lopez was quick to agree. Lopez was even spotted out shopping with Affleck’s son Samuel over the weekend.
“She’s a great mom and always gave Ben’s kids the same love,” the Lopez source stated. “Even though her contact with Ben is now more sporadic, they make sure the kids can spend time together whenever they want.”
Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Affleck married Garner in 2005 and soon had three children together. They later divorced in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez married Anthony in 2004. She welcomed twins with him before they divorced in 2014.
Lopez And Affleck Reunite
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They went on to marry in July of 2022.
Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year, as we previously stated. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Divorce is never easy, particularly when there are children involved. Hollywood is littered with some of the most bitter divorces in history. That’s why it’s refreshing to see Lopez and Affleck taking the high road enough that their respective children can remain close.
