Sofia Vergara Shouts At Jodie Foster From Her Seat After Losing Golden Globe To Her – ‘Give Me One!’

The 2025 Golden Globe Awards aired on CBS on Sunday night. During the show, the legendary Jodie Foster won the award for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Motion Picture—Television for her work in True Detective season four.

As Foster, 62, walked up to accept her award, fans were stunned to see the Griselda star Sofia Vergara, 52, begin screaming from her seat. Indeed, Vergara had been one of the nominees that Foster beat out in this category.

Now, we finally know what Vergara was yelling!

“No! No! Not again!” Vergara shouted.

“I know,” Foster replied from the stage.

“Give me one!” Vergara screamed.

This was seemingly a reference to Foster sweeping this award season for True Detective. This has left Vergara awards-less for Griselda.

Foster Wins Golden Globe

On Sunday night, Foster beat out Vergara (Griselda), Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Cristin Milioti (The Penguin), Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. the Swans) and Kate Winslet (The Regime). Foster wasn’t too offended by Vergara’s outburst, as she even gave her a shoutout in her speech!

“The greatest thing about being this age and being in this time is having a community of all these people, especially you, Sofia,” Foster said as she pointed to Vergara.

“I just want to thank my family,” she continued. “Because Kit, my scientist son, and Charlie, my actor son who’s starting his career, hopefully you understand the joy, such joy, that comes from doing really hard, meaningful, good work. So my boys, I love you, and this, of course, is for you. And the love of my life, Alex, thank you forever.”

Vergara Lost Emmy To Foster

Vergara lost to Foster in similar fashion at the 2024 Emmy Awards back in September. There, Foster won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie over Vergara, Watts, Brie Larson (Lessons in Chemistry) and Juno Temple (Fargo).

“They stole it from me,” Vergara jokingly lamented in Spanish in a video posted to Instagram after that loss. “They stole it from me for the fifth time.”

Vergara had previously been nominated for four Emmy Awards for Modern Family, but she’s never won. Vergara drastically de-glammed for Griselda, dramatically changing her own appearance to play the Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco.

“When I thought of Griselda, I wanted her to be like Tony Soprano. I wanted her to be a character that people didn’t hate, even though it was a bad guy,” Vergara told CBS News after Griselda dropped on Netflix last year. Check out a trailer for Griselda below.

Vergara ‘Incredibly Grateful’

After learning of her Emmy nomination, Vergara told People Magazine that she “never dreamed that after Modern Family I would be able to work on something as special as Griselda.”

“Wow. Griselda was my first dramatic role ever, and it took us 15 years to bring her to life. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who was a part of this series,” added the star.

Vergara was undoubtedly hoping that this show would be enough to finally win her some awards. Thanks to Foster, however, this did not end up happening.

While Vergara heckling Foster was seemingly all in good fun, it’s clear that deep down, the Colombian actress would love to actually win a major award. Here’s hoping that dream comes true for her someday!
