Over the past few weeks, rumors have been swirling that the country music star Blake Shelton and his singer wife Gwen Stefani are heading for divorce. Now, Shelton is seemingly putting these rumors to rest by gushing over Stefani.
Shelton, 49, and Stefani, 56, have been splitting their time between Los Angeles and his ranch in Oklahoma ever since their 2021 marriage. This has come as a surprise to some, given the fact that Stefani was born and raised in Southern California. According to Shelton, however, Stefani has no issues with Oklahoma. In fact, she’s fallen in love with rural ranch life in her husband’s home state.
“One of the joys of my lifetime has been, I guess introducing is the word, but bringing Gwen here. And letting her experience something that’s just kind of untamed and beautiful. Just completely different than anything she’s experienced growing up in Southern California,” Shelton said while appearing on the Michael Waddell Podcast.
Stefani Falls In Love With Oklahoma
Shelton went on to recall one of the first times he brought Stefani to his Oklahoma ranch. Indeed, it clearly stands out to him as one of his favorite moments of their relationship.
“One of the first times I ever brought her here, I remember her just being so taken aback,” he recalled. “She goes, ‘so this is your, like you own this?’ I go, ‘yeah, this is the ranch. This is part of the ranch.’ And she goes, ‘but I didn’t know you could have a creek or a river. You can have that?’ I go, ‘well, I don’t know what the laws are with the water.’”
“And then it started confusing me. I was like, wait a minute,” he continued. “She goes, ‘no, I just thought anything like this, what I’m looking at, would be like a national park, like a park or a state park or something, but this is just on your land?’ And I go, yeah.”
This moment made Shelton realize that some people who grow up in urban areas never get to experience the beauty that comes with living in a rural part of the country.
“She really has taken to it,” Shelton concluded. “[Stefani] loves nature. I mean, when she’s here, she loves to just get out of the house and go on walks. She’ll just walk around. I got roads around the ranch and she loves to exercise and just be out in it. So she just has really taken to the lifestyle of just having some freedom. For the last 30 years of her life, she steps out of the house and there’s somebody…taking pictures of her. And here there is none of that and she really appreciates it.”
Shelton And Stefani Divorce Rumors
This will come as a relief to fans. Indeed, rumors have been swirling that Shelton and Stefani are heading for divorce after they were rarely seen together in public in 2025.
Earlier this month, a source close to the couple attempted to shoot these rumors down by saying that this was simply because Shelton and Stefani each have notoriously busy work schedules.
“There is no truth to the split rumors. They’ve just been juggling demanding schedules,” a source close to Stefani told People Magazine last week. “When they are together, it’s just so obvious how solid they are.”
“Sometimes they spend a lot of family time together and really treasure that, and then there are periods when the focus is more on work,” the insider continued. “They’re both at a place in their careers where they still genuinely enjoy what they do and they don’t want to give that up. Is it easy all the time? Of course not. They have a lot on their plates and a lot to balance, but that’s just how it is when you’re a family and both parents have careers.”
Shelton And Stefani Are ‘As Strong As Ever’
Another insider told US Weekly that Shelton and Stefani are “as strong as ever,” with their relationship being rooted in both family and faith.
“It’s rooted in the things that matter to them both. They are very devoted to each other,” this insider explained. “From the beginning of their relationship, they dealt with the obstacle of their careers taking them in different directions and having to spend time apart. But it’s a part of their lifestyle now. They make it work.”
While Shelton and Stefani need to travel a lot for work, they always reconnect in their “home base” of Oklahoma, according to this source.
“Then they spend quite a bit of time in California and then Las Vegas,” the insider stated. “Traveling back and forth is just part of the job at this point, and they’ve both been quite used to it for many years.”

Judging by Shelton’s latest comments, it seems safe to say that he and Stefani really are still going strong. In the end, we’re glad to see that Stefani has taken to ranch life in Oklahoma so well.
