The 98th annual Academy Awards took place on Sunday night. Just like every other Oscars ceremony, this one was full of political messages from the liberal elites of Hollywood. Despite being hopelessly out of touch with the realities of the average working American, these wealthy Hollywood stars still feel the need to lecture the rest of us about politics.

In the wake of the ceremony, a clip is going viral in which Sharon Osbourne urges Hollywood stars to stop using their award shows as political propaganda. Indeed, the widow of the late great Ozzy Osbourne has had enough of the political lectures at these award ceremonies.

Sharon Sounds Off

Earlier this month, Sharon sat down with her son Jack Osbourne to film an episode of “The Osbournes Podcast.” During their conversation, Sharon said that she “understand[s] [that] everybody needs their platform.” However, she also understands that “everybody needs relief from what’s going on in the world.”

“Everybody needs that escape,” said Sharon, 73. “And the thing is, it’s like I understand that people get really emotional about things politically.”

“So, when they are on TV knowing that there’s 15 [to] 16 million people in this country alone watching, they want to use that platform to show everybody how emotional they personally are about a situation.” she continued. “And I get it, but they’ve also got to get that Joe Public needs a [expletive] break.”

Not stopping there, Sharon explained that while celebrities might have that “huge platform” when accepting whatever award they have just won, they need to understand, “it’s not always about you.” They also need to understand “that those watching at home are already living in “fear.”

Sharon concluded her rant by telling artists who use awards shows to preach about politics to “save it for your own little platform.”

Boom!

Sharon’s Own Awards Speech

Last month, Sharon and her daughter Kelly accepted a Lifetime Achievement BRIT Award on the behalf of the late Ozzy, who died last summer. Sure enough, politics never came up once in Sharon’s speech.

“I wish he was here to accept it himself so you’ve got the booby prize, you’ve got me doing it,” Sharon lamented. “I know that Ozzy is looking down on us all right now and I know what he’s thinking. He hated to make speeches, he hated listening to speeches and he’ll be saying, ‘Hey, shut the [expletive] up… just say thank you and get off that stage’ but I’m not going to.”

Sharon proceeded to praise Ozzy’s “one-in-a-million career.” She then celebrated the fact that he was “at the top of his game” for 56 years.

“Ozzy was authentic. He was gifted. Totally unpredictable. A wild man. He was a true artist,” she added. “He came from a small working-class neighborhood in Birmingham and he rose to become one of the most recognizable and respected musicians of his life. And it was filled with extraordinarily wonderful high times, but very, very real low times, but he never stopped tirelessly pushing himself to be better. He always wanted to do better, both personally and professionally.”

‘I Love You All, God Bless You’

Sharon concluded by thanking Ozzy’s fellow musicians, crew, his fans and those who lined the streets of Birmingham during his funeral last year.

Sharon ended her speech by saying, “As Ozzy would say at the end of every show, I love you all and God bless you.”

Now that’s how it’s done, Sharon!

It’s safe to say that at this point, we’re all sick of the political lectures from celebrities at awards shows. No wonder nobody is watching things like the Oscars anymore, as we’ve all had enough of being told how to vote by out of touch liberal elites who have no idea what they’re talking about.

We applaud Sharon for having the guts to tell these smug Hollywood stars to keep their politics to themselves. If only we had more celebrities out there like Sharon Osbourne!
