It’s been one month since Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year-old mother of the TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Last week, we reported that Savannah has announced that her family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads to her mother’s return.
Now, insiders are claiming that Savannah, 54, has officially said “goodbye” to her missing mother as the desperate search for her continues.
Savannah Says ‘Goodbye’
After one month of Nancy being missing, Savannah returned to her home one last time on Monday. Those close to her say that she made this return to say “goodbye” before she returns to her life in New York City.
“She didn’t want it to be a goodbye,” a source close to the family told Rob Shuter. “But she knows she can’t live in limbo forever.”
Savannah was caught on camera with her older sister Annie and brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni walking towards the growing memorial outside of Nancy’s home. The signs at the memorial still read, “Please come home.”
“That sign breaks her every time she sees it,” the insider said. “She still believes. She just doesn’t know what she’s believing for anymore.”
As they held yellow flowers, Savannah and her sister and brother-in-law engaged in an emotional hug.
“There were no words left,” the source lamented. “Just love. Just heartbreak.”
“She has to return to her life,” the insider softly concluded. “But she’s leaving a piece of her heart in Arizona.”

Nancy Goes Missing
Nancy was last seen on the night of Saturday, January 31. That evening, she had gone to dinner with her daughter Annie and her son-in-law Tommaso. They brought her home at around 9:45pm that night, and she has not been seen since. It is believed that Nancy was kidnapped from her home in the early hours of February 1.
A masked intruder was captured on Nancy’s doorbell ring camera just before she was taken. He managed to cover it with some plants before moving forward with the kidnapping. It was revealed this week that the masked man had been seen in the doorbell ring camera prior to the night Nancy was taken. This indicates that he may have been casing out her home.

Savannah Announces $1 Million Reward
Last week, Savannah announced that her family is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to the return of her mother. She did so in an emotional video posted to Instagram.
“It is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed,” Savannah said. “And every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then. Worrying for her, fearing for her, aching for her.”
“We still believe, we still believe in a miracle. We still believe that she can come home,” she continued. “Hope against hope, as my sister says, we are blowing on the embers of hope.”
Savannah went on to become visibly emotional as she publicly admitted for the first time that her mother may be dead.
“We also know that she may be lost, she may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves,” the longtime TODAY host said. “But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home. For that reason, we are offering a family reward of up to $1 million for any information that leads us to her recovery.”
“Somebody knows and we are begging you to please come forward now,” Savannah stated. “Tell us what you know and help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she lived.”
