It’s been one month since Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year-old mother of the TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona. Last week, we reported that Savannah has announced that her family is offering a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads to her mother’s return.
Earlier today, we reported that Savannah, 54, returned to the TODAY studio in New York City for the first time since Nancy went missing. Minutes later, Jenna Bush Hager broke down in tears live on the fourth hour show, Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, as she discussed Savannah’s return.
Jenna Discusses Savannah’s Return
Immediately after Savannah’s visit, Jenna and her co-host Sheinelle Jones had to go on live TV for their show.
“Let’s just get right into it, full disclosure, we’ve had a powerful morning this morning,” Sheinelle began.
“Savannah has come back to her home here at 30 Rock in Studio 1A,” Jenna said as she became visibly emotional. “We got to see her this morning and in her perfect way, she talked to all of us, hugged every single person in this room, the crew.”
Jenna went on to say that Savannah will be returning to TODAY at some point in the future.
“She said that she has the intention to return to the show even though it feels like the hardest thing to do. It’s also her home and where she feels so loved,” Jenna emphasized. “And she is beyond loved here. So we’re happy she’s home. I don’t know when she’s actually returning to the show. But she was here and that felt so good to get to hug her.”
Savannah’s Message of Faith
Later in the segment, Jenna shared a message from Savannah about her faith.
“She said the yellow flowers and the pins, all of your prayers, she feels them, she depends on them,” Jenna told her audience. “She said — and she’s said this to me before during all of this — but her pastor said — and I think she wouldn’t mind me sharing this — she said, ‘You know, God is our last resort,’ and she said, ‘No, God has always been my first resort.’ ”
Jenna concluded by calling Savannah “one of the most precious things in our lives.” Sheinelle concluded the segment by saying, “I think we just keep it going. We keep loving her, keep our arms around her. And we’re gonna get her back here.”

This comes after a TODAY spokesperson confirmed Savannah’s return to the show’s studio.
“Savannah Guthrie stopped by the studio this morning to be with and thank her TODAY colleagues,” the spokesperson told People Magazine.
The spokesperson went on to say that Savannah “plans to return to the show on air.”
No date for Savannah’s return has been announced yet. However, the spokesperson concluded by saying that “she remains focused right now supporting her family and working to help bring Nancy home.”
Nancy Goes Missing
Nancy was last seen on the night of Saturday, January 31. That evening, she had gone to dinner with her daughter Annie and her son-in-law Tommaso. They brought her home at around 9:45pm that night, and she has not been seen since. It is believed that Nancy was kidnapped from her home in the early hours of February 1.
A masked intruder was captured on Nancy’s doorbell ring camera just before she was taken. He managed to cover it with some plants before moving forward with the kidnapping. It was revealed this week that the masked man had been seen in the doorbell ring camera prior to the night Nancy was taken. This indicates that he may have been casing out her home.

Savannah Announces $1 Million Reward
Last week, Savannah announced that her family is offering a $1 million reward for information that leads to the return of her mother. She did so in an emotional video posted to Instagram.
In that video, Savannah admitted that her family is aware that Nancy “may be lost, she may already be gone. She may have already gone home to the lord that she loves. But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home. For that reason, we are offering a family reward of up to $1 million for any information that leads us to her recovery.”
“Somebody knows and we are begging you to please come forward now,” Savannah stated. “Tell us what you know and help us bring our beloved mom home so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave and courageous and noble life that she lived.”
