It’s been nearly two weeks since Nancy Guthrie, the 84 year-old mother of the TODAY show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing from her home in Tucson Arizona. On Thursday morning, Savannah took to Instagram to share a heartbreaking old piece of footage of her mother as the desperate search for Nancy continues.
Savannah Posts Heartbreaking Video
Savannah, 54, posted an old video from her childhood to her Instagram page. The footage shows Nancy in her younger days as a mom of Savannah and her two older siblings, Camron and Annie.
“Our lovely mom. 💛 We will never give up on her,” Savannah wrote in the caption.
“Thank you for your prayers and hope,” she added.

Nancy Goes Missing
Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on the night of Saturday, January 31. It is believed that she was kidnapped from her home in the early hours of February 1. She was last seen alive by Savannah’s sister Annie and her brother-in-law Tommaso Cioni. They had dinner with her that evening.
Earlier this week, Savannah took to Instagram to share photos from footage of an armed suspect who was spotted on surveillance footage in front of Nancy’s front door the night she went missing.
“We believe she is still alive. Bring her home,” Savannah wrote in the caption. “Anyone with information, please contact 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) or the Pima County Sheriff’s Department 520-351-4900.”
Savannah later shared the video footage of this individual.
“Someone out there recognizes this person,” she wrote. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has said that the “previously inaccessible new images” and video were “uncovered” by law enforcement. They reportedly showed “an armed individual appearing to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning of her disappearance.”
“Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie‘s home that may have been lost, corrupted, or inaccessible due to a variety of factors, including the removal of recording devices,” FBI Phoenix Public Affairs Officer Brooke Brennan told People Magazine.
White Tent Erected Outside Nancy’s Home
On Thursday morning, police erected a white tent outside of the entrance and front porch of Nancy’s home. This is exactly where blood that was eventually determined to be Nancy’s was found.
Forensic tents such as this one are typically erected when investigators want to conceal a body, weapon or other crucial pieces of evidence. At the time of this writing, however, it remains unclear why exactly this tent was put up.
The front porch where the blood was discovered has repeatedly been trampled on by authorities and family members alike throughout this ongoing investigation. The blood has also been exposed to outdoor elements, causing it to dry in the sun.
“This is amateur hour,” one source with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told Daily Mail.
This is clearly a very terrifying and disturbing situation for everyone involved. Please join us in saying a prayer for the safe return of Nancy Guthrie.
