Last week, Savannah Chrisley stepped in to guest host the ABC talk show The View. Now, Chrisley is speaking out to reveal what co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar are really like behind the scenes.

Chrisley Talks Goldberg And Behar

Chrisley stepped in to serve as the conservative voice on the panel as co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin remains on maternity leave. When it came to co-hosting with Goldberg and Behar, the experience ended up being very different than Chrisley was expecting it to be.

“I came into this with some ideas of what was going to happen,” Chrisley confessed on the show’s Behind the Table podcast. “I thought Whoopi and Joy were going to be a pain in my ass and just these mean women. And I was wrong… Yes, I was wrong, and I went into this, and it goes to show: stop judging.”

Chrisley was especially surprised by the way that the radically liberal Joy Behar acted towards her.

“Joy and I had a blast off camera. I mean, she’s hysterical, and she was asking me about my parents,” Chrisley recounted. “She was like, ‘What did they go to prison for?’ I go, ‘Joy, you should know. You called them “tax cheats.”… It’s the funniest thing, though. Like, you literally tell her something, and she talks about it, and then she forgets it.”

Chrisley Addresses Sunny Hostin

Chrisley struggled a bit more when it came to connecting with the co-host Sunny Hostin, who is a former federal prosectutor.

“I’m the only one at the table who believes differently,” Chrisley explained. “I thought there was going to be some contention. Day 1 was a little iffy. Sunny and I, we didn’t have words, but during a commercial break it was conversation about my parents, and she was like, ‘Well, didn’t a jury convict them?’ And I was like, ‘Did you know that prosecutors were spewing false information and there was Fourth Amendment violations, Brady violations?’”

“So there was a little hostility there,” Chrisley continued. “She’s a prosecutor, so I was like, ‘I’m not a fan of hers.’ But then today she and I had a conversation off camera. She was like, ‘Well, I didn’t understand this.’ And I was like, ‘I am sorry if I came off as defensive. It’s obviously my family and I’m always going to defend them.’”

Chrisley Thanks Her Co-Hosts

On Chrisley’s final day guest hosting The View, she voiced her gratitude for the way that she was treated on the show.

“I just want to thank you all for giving me a voice and allowing me to sit at the table and believe totally differently, but have conversations that are hard and respectful,” Chrisley gushed. “It’s the moments off camera that people don’t get to see where we really do have more in common than we are different.”

Chrisley went on to reveal that she recently told her father, “Joy is my favorite” on the show. He replied by saying “That’s unexpected!,” given the two of their very different political beliefs.

“You were very good and very sweet,” Behar responded to Chrisley. “We all like you very much. I’m happy to have had you here.”

This serves as a reminder that even in the crazy world of The View, it’s possible to put differing political views aside to get along. It will certainly be interesting to see if Chrisley pops up on The View again in the future!
