Sadie Robertson Huff, who is best known for starring in her family’s reality television series Duck Dynasty, is speaking out this week to reveal that she has been targeted by cancel culture.
Robertson Huff Targeted By Cancel Culture
Robertson Huff told Fox News that she recently experienced cancel culture after a TikTok dance video was met with outrage.
“I experienced a touch of cancel culture there,” said Robertson Huff, 28. “Honestly, I wasn’t even paying attention to the song.”
It all started when Robertson Huff and her sister jumped on a 2024 TikTok trend. This trend featured a viral line dance set to Beyoncé’s hit song, “Texas Hold ’Em.“
“We did the trend, and people had a problem with the song and different things,” Robertson Huff recalled. “And so, I got a lot of backlash.”
Making this even worse for Robertson Huff was the fact that much of the criticism came from people who she thought would support her.
“It was a lot from the church, which is disappointing because I felt like it just, instead of being unifying, we just added so much division and hate,” she lamented.
Robertson Huff Turns This Into A Teachable Moment
Though Robertson Huff ultimately deleted the video, she also turned this into a teachable moment.
“I ended up deleting the video,” she admitted. “But I wanted to come on and just kind of share why I deleted the video. Because I think a lot of times on social media, especially with cancel culture, you just hide or delete the video and say, ‘Sorry, didn’t mean to do that.’ But I actually just wanted to open it up to a bigger conversation.”
Robertson Huff is now hoping that speaking openly about this will remind Christians to give grace rather than pile on.
“Hey friends, like if we’re the church, and we’re in the body of Christ, we have to have each other’s back,” she stated. “Yes, there’s a place to speak into people’s life. Yes, we hold each other accountable, but also, believe the best in someone.”
In the end, this experience led to Robertson Huff thinking about just how quickly people are willing to celebrate someone’s downfall.
“If I got that much hate for doing something I didn’t even mean to do wrong, what happens whenever I do mess up? Because we’re all human,” she argued. “Sometimes, on social media, you see people almost rejoice when someone else does the wrong thing or falls down. It’s like, no — actually help a brother. Pick him back up.”
Robertson concluded by citing 1 Corinthians 13 as her reminder: love doesn’t rejoice in wrongdoing — it rejoices in truth.
Amen to that!
Robertson Huff Focuses On Family And Faith
These days, Robertson Huff is starring with her family in their new reality show Duck Dynasty: The Revival. She and her husband Christian Huff also recently welcomed their third child, a daughter named Kit. She joins older sisters Honey James and Haven Belle.
In her latest interview, Robertson Huff revealed that her parents Willie and Korie Robertson taught her from an early age that family and faith should always go hand in hand.
“We really believe this, and my parents really modeled this well for us, that if we’re called to something, that’s a call in our family’s life,” she said. “I love to bring my girls to be a part of it — my husband, too.”
We applaud Robertson Huff for continuing to use her platform to spread the word of God. If only we had more celebrities out there like Sadie Robertson Huff!
