The former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was rushed to the hospital over the weekend in critical condition.

Giuliani Hospitalized

This was revealed by Giuliani’s spokesperson Ted Goodman on Sunday evening.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.”

“We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani,” he added.

It is unclear at this time what specifically led to the hospitalization of Giuliani, 81.

Trump Praises Giuliani

On Friday night, Giuliani coughed as he began his nightly online show “America’s Mayor Live.” When he spoke, his voice was also noticeably more raspy than it usually is.

“My voice is a little under the weather. So I won’t be able to speak as loudly as I usually do. But I’ll get closer to the microphone,” Giuliani said at the time.

After Giuliani’s hospitalization was announced, President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social media platform to say that the former New York City mayor is “a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR.”

“What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!” Trump wrote. “They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”

Giuliani’s History

In August of last year, Giuliani was seriously injured in a car crash that occurred in New Hampshire. Giuliani’s head of security Michael Ragusa took to Instagram at the time to reveal what exactly happened.

According to Ragusa, Giuliani “was flagged down by a woman who was the victim of a domestic violence incident” and “immediately rendered assistance and contacted 911.”

“He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” Ragusa continued. “Following this, while traveling on the highway, Mayor Giuliani’s vehicle was struck from behind at high speed.”

Ragusa went on to say that Giuliani “was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, as well as injuries to his left arm and lower leg.”

“The mayor is in great spirits. He’s a beast. He survived 9/11,” Ragusa later added. This was a reference to Giuliani’s time as mayor of New York City, a position he held from 1994 through 2001. After the September 11 terrorist attacks, Giuliani was widely celebrated as “America’s mayor.”

After his time as mayor of New York City, Giuliani unsuccessfully ran for president in 2007. He later began working in the Trump administration in 2016, and he quickly became known for his loyalty to the president.

Giuliani is a true living legend, and there will never be another one like him. Please join us in saying a prayer for him as he remains in the hospital at this time.

God bless you, Rudy Giuliani!
