Roseanne Barr is speaking out to blast Howard Stern after it was revealed that the shock jock radio host pulled a truly devious prank.
Barr Torches Stern
“Howard Stern still having a hard time realizing he is a [expletive] now,” wrote Barr, 72. “Maybe one day before he really quits he will realize where he went wrong shilling for fascists and pro cancel culture.”
“He used to be a bastion of free speech, and now he’s a shill,” she added.
When another social media user spoke out to say that Stern has never been good, Barr offered a slight defense of him.
“To be fair– Howard Stern is still the greatest who ever did it,” she acknowledged. “He is all the faces of radio Mt. Rushmore.”
However, Barr quickly returned to bashing Stern from there.
“But still; he’s a boot-licking [expletive] now. They got to him. They will never get to me,” she continued. “If he wants to grow a pair and put the cats down one day he always will have a seat at my table.”
Barr certainly didn’t mince any words there!
Stern’s Prank
This came after Stern, 71, pranked his own audience last week amidst rumors that The Howard Stern Show had been canceled. The cancelation rumors came after Stern’s viewership plummeted from 20 million a week in the 1990s to as low as 125,000 today. Many believe that this is because Stern has gone woke, as he frequently lectures his viewers about his own liberal politics.
When the radio show returned from its summer hiatus on September 8, Stern brought his fellow SiriusXM host Andy Cohen in to prank his listeners.
“I know you’re expecting a big announcement from Howard and this is not how things were meant to go,” Cohen 57, said at the opening of the show. He went on to say that it’s been a “surreal morning here.”
“There’s been a lot of talk about what’s going to happen with Howard’s deal. Is he fired? I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say, except that he’s not here and I am,” Cohen continued. “Howard was supposed to start the show today, and this was supposed to be something of a cleaner handoff. There is nothing clean about it. Here we are. I’m kind of winging it.”
Cohen then claimed he was taking over the show with his own program “Andy 100.” He proceeded to praise Stern, saying that “he walked so that we could run. I can’t possibly fill his void.”
Stern Steps In
That’s when Stern came on to admit that this was a joke. He also confirmed that his show had not been canceled after all.
“I’m going to have to fill everyone in,” Stern said, adding that he only missed his shows the week before because he was sick. “I was just getting so [expletive] annoyed with everyone writing me, asking me if I was OK because I’d been fired.”
“I’m minding my own business, enjoying my summer vacation. [A reporter] says that I’ve been fired for being too woke,” he continued. “In light of the Stephen Colbert firing — because the word on Stephen was that it was all part of this merger, and they fired Stephen because he’s too woke — the story then became ‘Howard Stern is fired because he’s too woke.’ I still don’t even know what that means.”
This was a reference to CBS canceling Colbert’s late night talk show. This came after the show was revealed to be costing the network $40 million per year.
“Then all of a sudden, I’m sitting home and everybody I know in my world, even peripherally, is writing me. ‘Are you OK, are you OK?'” Stern concluded. “None of it is true, zero truth. I’m very happy at Sirius.”
Stern Attacks Barr
Days later, Stern launched an attack on Barr for posting a meme of him and Colbert wearing bikinis. She did this last month when it was rumored that Stern’s show had been canceled.
This didn’t sit well with Stern. Indeed, he called Barr a “brain-dead weirdo” who has “gone mad.”
“What happened to her?” Stern asked of Barr. “She’s completely gone, right? I mean, like, what’s her deal?”
Clearly, there is no love lost between Barr and Stern. While Stern’s radio show may not be canceled yet, he’s still learning the consequences about what happens when someone goes woke.
In the end, many will certainly agree with Barr’s assessment of Stern. It’s sad to see what’s become of him indeed!
