Reba McEntire has been one of the most successful country music stars in the world for decades. In a new interview, McEntire is opening up about why she constantly thanks God for her legions of fans that have been “faithful” to her for so many years.

‘I Thank God For The Fans’

“I thank God for the fans, because they are people who travel, spend their hard-earned money to buy tickets, to buy albums,” McEntire, 70, told Variety. “They’re faithful. And I don’t care what kind of entertainment business you’re in, whether it’s race cars or movies, singing or writing books. If you don’t have the fans, you might as well be singing in the shower, because they’re the ones that put food on our tables.”

Despite turning 70 at the end of March, McEntire is staying as busy as ever. Indeed, she is currently starring on the NBC sitcom Happy’s Place. She’s also preparing to star in a film adaptation of Fannie Flagg’s novel The All-Girl Filling Station’s Last Reunion.

While McEntire never initially planned to become an actress, she feels that working in film and television has “made me a better entertainer by far.”

“The more experience and the different things you get to be involved in, you learn,” she explained. “You learn from other people you’re working with, whether it’s directors or producers. I’m very observant of how they do things. I want to improve every time I take on a new project.”

“When I started out in the music business, I didn’t know anything about it,” she added. “What I did know is that in rodeo and ranching, it’s a man’s world: You insert yourself, you work your ass off; you don’t bitch about it, you don’t complain, you just work harder. When I got into the music business, that work ethic was still there.”

McEntire’s Philanthropy

When she isn’t acting or singing, McEntire gives back by working with the nonprofit organization Safe Haven Family Shelter in Nashville. This organization goes above and beyond to bring people in from the streets and guide them into long-term housing.

“I love Safe Haven because they keep the families together,” McEntire gushed. “Some shelters take the children, or sometimes they would take the wife or the husband. But at Safe Haven, they keep the family together. They help them find jobs, and they help them find homes.”

“I think we make a good team,” she added of Safe Haven. “They know what they’re doing; they just need some financial help. That’s what I like to do — help people where there’s a great team already in place.”

McEntire Teams Up With Realtor.com

McEntire also just announced a new partnership with Realtor.com, which she says has “touched her heart.” She added that this partnership has helped her to focus on what makes her own house feel like home to her.

“Personal memorabilia, things that have stories … something comfortable,” McEntire told People Magazine. “Nobody has to take their shoes off when they come in the house, and it’s nothing fancy. It’s just livable. Breathable, and a place to come in and have fun.”

“Realtor.com is a perfect thing, an app to have if you’re curious and who knows, you might find something that you like better than where you are and make a move,” she continued.

McEntire is truly a one of a kind entertainer, and there will never be another one like her. We’re glad that she’s so thankful for her fans, and we’re thankful for her as well!
