Tomorrow, millions of Americans will be celebrating Mother’s Day. To mark the occasion, First Lady Melania Trump is speaking out to offer some powerful advice to young mothers.
Melania’s Advice For Young Mothers
Melania, 56, is the proud mother of her 20 year-old son Barron Trump. She is also a stepmom to President Donald Trump’s four older children from his two previous marriages.
In a new interview, Melania is offering some words of wisdom to the young mothers in this country as they prepare to be celebrated on Mother’s Day.
“To all the young mothers out there: shower your children with love and support and always communicate openly,” Melania told USA Today. “See them as their own unique individuals, not merely as extensions of yourself. Encourage them to explore their passions and respect their choices, honoring their decision to declare ‘yes’ and ‘no.'”
“Guide them with wisdom but establish a foundation of freedom where they can carve their own life path,” she continued. “Remember, they’re here to live their lives, and your nurturing spirit will help them shine.”
In this same interview, Melania opened up about how Mother’s Day is celebrated in her native Slovenia.
“In Slovenia we celebrated Mother’s Day on March 8, on International Women’s Day,” she explained. “The two moments together created a beautiful reminder of the strength and love all mothers and women bring into our lives.”
“Long ago, in my art class, I created a special painting of my mom, capturing her essence on canvas,” the First Lady added. “She cherished it, along with so many of my other art creations, showing me the power of love, encouragement, and heritage.”
Melania Praises Her Late Mother Amalija
Melania further opened up about her beloved mother Amalija Knavs, who sadly died in 2024 at the age of 78. Amalija played an active role in helping Melania raise Barron, as she and her husband Viktor frequently lived with or near the Trumps. Indeed, Amalija and Barron shared a truly special bond.
“My mother was the epitome of love and warmth, and for Barron, a grandmother who filled every moment with joy and wisdom,” Melania gushed. “Every story she read to Barron sparked his imagination, and every game they played strengthened their bond. Her delicious meals were more than just food; they were a celebration of togetherness.”
“My mother and Barron had a distinct bond, beginning with her gentle embrace,” the First Lady recalled. “When Barron was young, they often cuddled, played Barron’s favorite games, and read books together. I would often hear their laughter and personally felt their joy, knowing they were creating unforgettable memories together. Their connection was so magical. And I loved watching it.”
Melania went on to say that Amalija had a major impact on the man that Barron is today.
“Their love, wisdom, and guidance created a strong foundation for Barron, which nurtured his growth and potential,” she concluded. “My parents’ dedication is irreplaceable, and it inspires me to provide the same for Barron as he navigates his own path.”
Even many of Melania’s haters on the left would have a hard time denying that she is a truly amazing and devoted mother to Barron.
