Over the past year rumors have been swirling that Barack and Michelle Obama are heading for divorce. According to these rumors, Barack and Michelle have been living “separate lives” for quite some time.
Now, the former Fox News host Megyn Kelly is speaking out to torch Michelle for constantly whining about her time as First Lady. This comes as the Obama divorce rumors continue to spread like wildfire.
Michelle Whines About Being First Lady
On the latest episode of her IMO podcast, which she hosts with her older brother Craig Robinson, Michelle sat down with the comedian Conan O’Brien. During their conversation, Conan recalled his 2015 trip to the Middle East that he took with Michelle.
“You and I took a trip once to visit a big, giant military base in the Middle East,” Conan said. “You and your team were being so careful that everything is done by the book, you know, there’s no perks. There’s no– I was really impressed with that, and it occurred to me then, ‘Oh, I see. Everyone feels we need to be so, so, so far beyond.’”
That’s when Michelle took the opportunity to once again complain about being the “first black family in the White House.”
“It wasn’t even a feeling. It was the truth. It’s the truth, you know?” Michelle said. “I mean, there’s absolutely no way that the behavior in this current administration would have been accepted by the first black family in the White House.”
“So fortunately, it wasn’t difficult to do because we are those people,” she continued. “It wasn’t difficult to follow rules, it wasn’t difficult to have high standards. It wasn’t very difficult because in order to get where we are… you don’t get here without being damn near perfect. We don’t get to fail two, three, five, seven times. We don’t get to file bankruptcy over and over again and still be considered a successful business person. You know, we don’t get to not be at the top of the class. Um, you know, every, every I has to be dotted, every T has to be crossed.”
Megyn Fires Back
This didn’t sit well with Megyn. Indeed, she slammed both Michelle and Conan for not mentioning the troops that they visited on the base.
“What I was waiting for him to say was, maybe, ‘You were so great with the troops. The way you guys interacted, it seemed so authentic to me’… or ‘Could you believe how badass those guys were,'” Megyn said.
“The normal instinct by most patriots [is] to make it about the guys and the gals who you saw at the military base. But both of them were determined to make it about her.”
“But it went beyond that. “[It was] not just about her, but about racial grievance, again, with some digs at Trump,” Megyn added. “She is so small-minded. This is the only lens through which she sees her experience as first lady.”
Not stopping there, Megyn proceeded to double down.
“There is no gratitude, not even for the troops. Not a word about how tough they were, how amazing they were, how selfless they were in their sacrifice – just her sacrifice in having to be first lady for eight years and deal with the abject racism of the country,” she concluded. “I’ve had it with this [expletive]. I’m sorry, but I am done listening to her whine with the help… of these little white liberals who are begging for her to pat them on the head.”

Obama Divorce Rumors
This comes at a difficult time for both Michelle and Barack, who have been married since 1992. Indeed, over the past year, they’ve been plagued by rampant rumors that they are divorcing.
These divorce rumors escalated in a big way back in January of last year, when Michelle skipped both the funeral of Jimmy Carter and the inauguration of Donald Trump. She was the only living former First Lady to miss each of these events. This forced Barack to attend both events alone.
“I have been hearing this rumor that the Obamas are getting a divorce by reputable people,” political commentator Meghan McCain said on reporter Tara Palmeri’s podcast in 2025. “I’m not talking about TMZ, I’m not talking about Perez Hilton, although I love him, he’s my friend.”
“I’m talking about like very serious journalists telling me that they’re hearing that the Obama divorce rumors are true,” she continued.
“We’ve heard that for a long time,” replied Tara, who has long covered Washington politics. “Like I just heard that they live separate lives.”

Michelle Accused Of ‘Really Disliking’ Barack
Michelle launched her IMO podcast back in March of last year. Since then, Michelle has used it to bash Barack and air his dirty laundry seemingly every chance she gets.
In fact, Michelle has complained about Barack so many times on her podcast that the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has claimed that the former First Lady “really dislikes her husband, and it’s super obvious.”
“I’m not just saying that to be catty,” Tucker explained. “I think I’m trying to feel compassion for her but her hostility toward the guy is unbelievable.”
Tucker’s fellow former Fox News host Megyn was quick to agree. She pointed out that “everything Michelle says about her husband is negative.”
“I almost never say negative things about Doug,” Megyn added, referring to her own husband Doug Brunt. “He’s not perfect but when I think about him, I don’t immediately go to whatever is negative. I go to what’s positive and what I love about him.”
The Obamas Respond
Back in July, Barack appeared on Michelle’s IMO podcast. There, they desperately tried to shoot down the escalating divorce rumors.
“There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man,” Michelle claimed. “And we’ve had some really hard times. So we had a lot of fun times, a lot of adventures, and I have become a better person because of the man I’m married to.”
“These are the kinds of things that I just miss, right?” Barack chimed in to add. “So I don’t even know this stuff’s going on. And then somebody will mention it to me and I’m all like, ‘what are you talking about?'”
Unfortunately for the Obamas, however, many are still not buying their claims that their marriage is still going strong.
Michelle can whine about her time as First Lady all that she wants to, but it won’t help her case that all is well in her marriage. Only time will tell if the Obama marriage will actually survive!
