Meghan Markle and Taylor Swift each made some big announcements last week.
Meghan, 43, released the trailer for season two of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. This was a crucial moment for Meghan, as it came days after Netflix downgraded her and her husband Prince Harry’s contract with the streaming service.
Meanwhile, Taylor, 35, made an appearance on her Kansas City Chiefs tight end boyfriend Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast. There, Taylor shocked her fans by revealing the name of her upcoming album: The Life of a Showgirl.
Unfortunately for Meghan, Taylor’s announcement ended up garnering far more attention than her own did. Now, insiders are speaking out to claim that Meghan is absolutely livid with Taylor for stealing the spotlight.
Meghan Furious After Taylor Outshines Her
Taylor’s The Life of a Showgirl reveal shattered records by garnering 167 million views in 24 hours. In a humiliating contrast, Meghan’s With Love, Meghan season 2 trailer has scored just 436,000 views in six days. Needless to say, this hasn’t sat well with Meghan, who has reportedly complained about the situation to those close to her.
“Meghan thought her trailer would own the news cycle,” one source told Rob Shuter’s #Shuterscoop. “Then Taylor’s announcement came in like a wrecking ball. Meghan’s convinced it wasn’t just bad luck.”
Meghan was reportedly hoping that this would be her chance to show Netflix executives that they made a mistake when they demoted her and Harry’s $100 million deal to a “first look” arrangement that is far less prestigious.
Netflix executives did this after various projects launched by Meghan and Harry flopped miserably for the streaming service. One of these projects was season one of With Love, Meghan, which failed to crack the top 300 most viewed Netflix shows for the first half of 2025. Instead, it came in at number 383. This has made the stakes higher than ever for season two to prove to be a hit for Meghan.
“She saw this as her comeback moment,” another insider added. “Then Taylor took all the oxygen out of the room.”
“She’s trying to spin it as unfortunate timing, but Meghan likes being the headline. This week, she wasn’t,” this source concluded.
With Love, Meghan Trailer Gets Roasted
Making matters even worse for Meghan is the fact that critics have been relentlessly roasting her trailer for season two of With Love, Meghan.
“I’m sorry, is Netflix just dumb?? Do those two have something on Netflix?? Netflix is pretty much the only platform giving them airtime,” one social media user commented. Another added, “I wish they both would just go away.”
“It’s the second season nobody asked for for the show nobody in the first place asked for!!!!!!!!!” a third user wrote. A fourth commented, “You don’t need to keep saying you care for other people, just like you don’t need to keep saying you’re authentic — you either are or you’re not!”

Taylor Gushes Over The Life Of A Showgirl
As for Taylor, she’s as excited as ever to release The Life of a Showgirl. While being interviewed on her boyfriend Travis’ podcast, Taylor explained that the album is about “the life beyond the show.”
“I would say it’s everything that was going on behind the curtain,” she stated.
Taylor went on to say that she wrote the bulk of the album during the European leg of her hugely successful Eras Tour last year.
“I was basically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating,” she recalled. Travis chimed in to add, “Literally living the life of a showgirl.”
Taylor is arguably the most beloved singer on the planet right now. In contrast, Meghan is a controversial figure whose popularity appears to be plummeting by the day.
In the end, Meghan shouldn’t be surprised that Taylor outshined her last week. Nice try, Meghan, but this was yet another fail!
