Last month, we reported that Prince Harry had met with his father King Charles. The pair enjoyed a “private tea” in London for around 55 minutes on Wednesday, September 10. This was the first time they had met in person in 19 months.
Days later, we reported that Meghan Markle had gone into panic mode over this. Indeed, insiders were claiming that she was fighting “tooth and nail” to keep her husband Harry.
Now, other sources are speaking out to claim that Meghan “could walk away” from Harry as he continues to seemingly attempt both a return to the United Kingdom and a royal reconciliation.
Meghan Is ‘Extremely Upset’
Harry, 41, reportedly greatly enjoyed being back in his native U.K. This has left Meghan, 44, feeling “”worried Harry is being pulled back into old patterns of manipulation by his family,” according to one insider.
This source told Radar Online that Meghan is “extremely upset” about the thought of ever moving back to the U.K. That’s why a “divorce plan” is allegedly in the works. This comes amidst her seeming refusal to leave her home state of California.
“The Palace is quietly drawing up contingency plans in the event of a split,” a royal insider claimed. “The thought is that Harry might push for a return to the U.K., but Meghan won’t want to come back from the U.S. — and that schism is potentially dangerous.”
“We’re told courtiers are said to be ‘considering a golden handshake’ settlement, which would be ‘more generous than might be assumed, but heavily structured,'” this source continued.
‘A Strict Gagging Order’ For Meghan
Indeed, Buckingham Palace is reportedly desperate to stop Meghan from revealing more private details about Harry’s family. That’s why the current plan is reportedly to allow Meghan to keep her regal title if she never discusses the royals.
“It would include a strict gagging order designed to prevent further exposés of private life,” explained the royal insider. “It’s like with Princess Diana all over again. Only, this time the language will be tighter, and the penalties for breaking it heavier.”
“The agreement would also grant Meghan the continued use of her Duchess of Sussex title,” the royal source added. “The Palace sees it as a face-saving measure, because tearing it away from her could spark a media war.'”
The royal insider went on to say that the palace wants to ensure that “the future of Archie and Lilibet would be pre-mapped in meticulous detail.” This, of course, is a reference to Harry and Meghan’s 6-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter.
“Schooling, where they live, custody, and travel permissions would all be agreed upon until the age of 18. It’s about controlling the narrative and protecting the monarchy,” the source stated of what would happen in the event of a split. “They don’t want a messy tug-of-war over the children splashed across every newspaper.”
“Harry wants to root the kids in Britain, but he can’t until he’s assured of their protection,” the royal insider concluded. “On the Palace’s side, aides are keenly aware this push could shift public sympathy. If he’s painted as being blocked from returning home by the establishment, that narrative becomes a powerful weapon.”
Meghan ‘Feels Like She’s Losing’ Harry
Harry and Meghan shocked the world when they stepped down as senior royals in January of 2020. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised. In the years since then, they have been estranged from most of Harry’s family, including his older brother Prince William.
Judging by Harry’s latest moves, however, it appears that he’s getting homesick for Britain. Last month, a source close to Meghan claimed to Radar Online that the former Suits star’s “biggest worry is that he’s been lured back in by the royals again and that they could drive a wedge between them.”
“She feels like she’s losing him,” this source added.
Should Harry reconcile with his family, it appears that his marriage to Meghan may be over. Only time will tell how this turns out for Harry, Meghan, and the royal family!
