It’s been six years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals. They claimed that they were doing so because they wanted privacy, something that Harry has allegedly craved since he was a child.
In the years since then, however, Meghan, 44, has ensured that their lives have been as public as possible. Most recently, Meghan was branded a “hypocrite” after she took to Instagram to post a photo that clearly shows the face of her and Harry’s four year-old daughter Lilibet. This makes it the last photo that Meghan would post if she actually wanted privacy for her daughter.
Now, royal experts are claiming that Harry, 41, was likely livid over the photo. Indeed, it seems that this may have resulted in some “fiery” fights between Meghan and Harry. Check out the now-infamous photo below.
Not ‘How Harry Wanted It To Be…’
“I would think they have had some pretty fiery rows about the topic, because it’s not at all how Harry wanted it to be,” royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Mirror.
“They have completely ignored the fact that they said they were leaving the royal family because they wanted a more private life. And they have created anything but that for themselves,” she continued. “It appears they left the family because they wanted a public life and to earn money.”
Seward went on to say that given how desperate Harry is to keep his family out of the spotlight, Meghan’s decision to post this photo is “baffling.” That’s why she thinks it’s a likely source of tension for Meghan and Harry in their marriage.
“There must have been some pretty strong disagreements over the privacy issue. Partly because Harry understands it better than Meghan, due to his own experiences as a child,” Seward explained. “For Meghan, being seen with a gorgeous child is just a plus, because she appears to love the Hollywood life and the fame that goes with it.
“But Harry doesn’t and never has done, by his own admission,” she added. “He’s not a movie star, he’s a private person, at least when he wants to be. And Meghan’s behavior is very much that of a movie star.”
Royal Expert Doubles Down
Not stopping there, Seward expressed her belief that Meghan may be using her children to increase her own fame. Prior to her 2018 marriage to Harry, Meghan spent years trying to make it as an actress. Though she was eventually cast on the cable television show Suits, Meghan never achieved the A-list level of fame that she craved until her marriage.
“It may be a bit harsh, but one could argue that their children have become an extension of their own vanity,” Seward said. “What other reason is there for Meghan to post a photograph of her children other than to say, ‘Look at our lovely children?'”
“It’s quite different sharing a photograph of your child with your friends and loved ones. But sharing it with millions of people is another matter entirely,” Seward concluded. “It’s sad but it’s true. It could be a rather stupid thing to do, because it’s out there for everyone to see now.”
A Rough Time For Harry
This could not come at a more difficult time for Harry. Days after the photo was posted, Harry’s uncle Prince Andrew was arrested on his 66th birthday.
Andrew was taken into custody on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He has been accused of sharing confidential information with the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew allegedly did this while he was acting as an official trade envoy for the United Kingdom. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe believes that Andrew’s arrest was likely deeply divisive for Meghan and Harry as a couple. While Harry will have sympathy for his family, Meghan will want to distance herself from all of this, according to Larcombe.
“Harry will have a lot of sympathy for his dad, King Charles, and his cousins, Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice. But the last thing Meghan needs is to be dragged into the Epstein scandal in any way,” Larcombe claimed. “She will want to keep her head down. But that’s very hard when you have a husband who is a member of the royal family, which is a family in crisis.”
All of these stresses are likely taking at least some kind of toll on Meghan and Harry’s marriage. Only time will tell if their marriage will actually stand the test of time!
