It’s been five years since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals. They then moved across the world to Southern California, where Meghan was born and raised.
In the years since then, there’s nothing that Meghan and Harry have wanted more than to become Hollywood royalty. That’s why it’s particularly humiliating for them that insiders are claiming that Hollywood A-listers have turned their backs on the Sussexes. Indeed, it seems that the A-list elites of Hollywood have been snubbing Meghan and Harry as of late.
Meghan Snubbed By A-List Elites
Last week, Meghan appeared at the Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit. There, she gave a speech that News Nation describes as “garbled.” In it, Meghan ranted about financial independence and the evils of social media. She also bizarrely talked about the importance of “work-life balance” despite the fact that neither she nor Harry seem to be working very hard.
The former Vice President and failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris was also at this summit. However, you won’t be seeing any photos of Kamala and Meghan together.
“Kamala pulled a Gwyneth,” said one insider.
This was a reference to the Oscar-winning Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow, who lives near Meghan and Harry in Montecito, California.
“(A-listers) know that if they are in a picture with (Meghan) it is a tacit approval of her that she can use to promote herself,” another insider explained. “Meghan can show up at events where they are at, move into their neighborhood, but they are not friends.”
Gwyneth Sounds Off On Meghan
Earlier this year, Gwyneth claimed to People Magazine that she is in a “text friendship” with Meghan. This appeared to be a flimsy attempt from Gwyneth to shut down rampant rumors that she and Meghan were feuding. However, even Gwyneth admitted that she has “not yet” spent much time with Meghan.
“We have a text friendship so far,” Gwyneth said. “I’ve been traveling quite a bit.”
That doesn’t exactly sound like a ringing endorsement of Meghan, now does it?
It seems that Gwyneth and her fellow Hollywood stars don’t want to be seen as taking Meghan and Harry’s side in their feud with the royal family.
Kamala likely feels the same way, which would explain why she also avoided Meghan at last week’s summit. The failed presidential candidate might also have been eager to avoid someone who has an even lower approval rating than she does these days. Indeed, earlier this week, Meghan topped a “most disliked celebrity” poll, securing 48,000 votes from the public.
It doesn’t get much more embarrassing than that, folks!
Meghan ‘Doesn’t Get It’
Other Hollywood insiders spoke out over the summer to reveal just how unpopular Meghan is in the ritzy area of Montecito.
“When the princess-thing didn’t work out, she reverted to the person she was when [Harry] found her,” a Montecito source told Daily Mail of Meghan back in June. “She’s trying to say she’s exceedingly normal, which she isn’t. It’s all very LA actress.”
“It’s glaringly obvious she doesn’t get it,” the insider continued. “It proves people don’t really change and all along she just wanted to be an influencer and TV star.”
Before marrying Harry, Meghan spent years desperately trying to make it as an actress. Though she was eventually cast on the cable television series Suits, Meghan never came close to achieving the A-list level of fame in Hollywood that she craved.
It appears that now, Meghan’s dreams of becoming Hollywood royalty have gone up in smoke for good. We don’t agree with the elites of Hollywood on much, but we certainly can’t argue with them on this one!
