Megan Thee Stallion got a little emotional on stage over the weekend after her performance as Zidler in Moulin Rouge! The Musical.
The rap singer was still reeling from her breakup with NBA player Klay Thompson.
Getting Emotional
On Saturday, April 25th, Stallion was seen wiping away tears after her fellow cast members and the audience cheered for her performance. The moment followed Stallion’s public split from Thompson, alleging he cheated on her.
One person continuously shouted, “We love you!” in a clip taken by another audience member, causing Stallion to smile and bow.
She even took a moment to turn away and wipe away some errant tears.
Support from Fans
Fans and other stars have come out and supported Megan after her split.
The person who posted the video commented, “How can anyone do any harm to this woman?”
Another fan wrote, “I hope she knows she got 1 million homegirl that love her all over the world.”
Stars even got in on the action. WNBA star Angel Reese wrote, “It’s the way you show up even while carrying so much—that’s what makes you THAT girl. You always have a little sister riding for you at dawn. I love you, sister.”
Rapper Monaleo added, “Just a girl carrying the weight of the world. We love you Meg even on your darkest of days, don’t you ever forget it!”
Ending Her Relationship
Megan Thee Stallion announced her breakup in a statement to People earlier on Saturday.
She said, “I’ve made the decision to end my relationship with Klay. Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity.”
Along with the statement, Megan shared a point post on Instagram Stories, accusing Thompson of “cheating” on her and needing a “break” after ending the relationship.
She wrote, “Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got cold feet.’ Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season, now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous????’ B***h I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall.”
Thompson & Stallion
Megan did not name Thompson, but the pair have shared several photos in recent months.
They first linked up last summer, making their red carpet debut at Stallion’s Inaugural Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City on July 16th.
She opened up to People about their relationship and how Thompson came into her life when she least expected it.
“Well, I don’t never want to tell [anybody] to just jump in a relationship just because everybody else got one, and I’m not going to tell you to just jump in a relationship because you have to. I didn’t even know I was going to be in my relationship, to be honest. … This is one of the first times that I’ve ever been just overly comfortable.”
Megan also shared her love with Page Six, saying she had “never dated somebody so kind.”
“This is my first relationship where I’ve ever been with somebody who’s genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy. I just never dated somebody like him before and I’m just grateful that he’s here by my side and he feels the same way about me.”
In October 2025, Thompson and Stallion took a big step in their relationship by purchasing a home together.
