Last week, we reported that five people had been arrested in the death of the former Friends star Matthew Perry, who was found dead in his hot tub in October of last year. Now, his chilling final words to his longtime assistant, who is one of the people who was arrested, have been revealed.
Perry’s Final Hours
Perry, 54, was found dead in his hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home on October 28, 2023. An autopsy later revealed that Perry died due to the acute effects of the anesthetic ketamine.
The plea agreement that was given to Perry’s longtime live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa has just been revealed. It offers new insight into the disturbing final hours of Perry’s life.
At around 8:30 am on the morning of October 28, Perry had Iwamasa administer a shot of ketamine to him. Perry then had Iwamasa give him another injection at 12:45 p.m. while he watched a movie. Around forty minutes later, Perry asked for another injection, and delivered what would be his final words to Iwamasa.
“Shoot me up with a big one,” he chillingly said.
Iwamasa then administered this third injection to Perry, who was either in or near the jacuzzi at the time. Iwamasa proceeded to leave the home to run some errands for Perry. When he returned, he found the actor “face down” in the Jacuzzi, deceased.
Iwamasa Arrested Along With Four Others
Iwamasa, 59, was arrested last week along with Dr. Mark Chavez, 54, and Dr. Salvador Plasencia, 42. Also arrested were the alleged street dealer Erik Fleming, 54, and Jasveen Sangha, a 41 year-old drug dealer who is known as the “Ketamine Queen” of Los Angeles.
Iwamasa allegedly introduced Perry to Dr. Plasencia, a ketamine source, in September of last year. Dr. Plasencia, who got the ketamine from Dr. Chavez, allegedly taught Iwamasa how to inject Perry with the drug. Dr. Chavez previously ran a ketamine clinic, giving him access to the drug.
At one point, Dr. Plasencia reportedly texted Dr. Chavez, “I wonder how much this moron will pay” and “Lets find out.”

Perry’s Final Month
Iwamasa ultimately paid Dr. Plasencia $55,000 for liquid ketamine and ketamine lozenges, starting on September 30. Over the next few months, there were signs that Perry was heading towards disaster. On October 12, Dr. Plasencia came to Perry’s home and administered a “large” dose of ketamine to the actor. Perry then experienced an “adverse medical reaction.”
The ketamine that had been injected had caused a major spike in Perry’s systolic blood pressure, causing his body to “freeze up.” This made it so that Perry could not speak or move. Iwamasa and Dr. Plasencia then moved him to a couch.
“Let’s not do that again,” Plasencia allegedly told Iwamasa afterwards. However, he also left additional ketamine vials at the home for the assistant to inject.
As Perry’s addiction spiraled out of control, Iwamasa went on the hunt for more ketamine sources. On October 10, he contacted middleman Erik Fleming, who allegedly worked with the “Ketamine Queen” Sangha.
“Just got this from my person,” Fleming wrote in text messages to Iwamasa. “She only deal[s] with high end and celebs. If it were not great stuff she’d lose her business.”
Fleming allegedly delivered 25 vials of ketamine on October 14 before delivering 25 more vials on October 24. Between October 24 and October 27, Iwamasa reportedly injected Perry six to eight times a day. Throughout the month of October, Iwamasa found Perry unconscious at least two times.
The ketamine that ultimately killed Perry came from Fleming and Sangha.
