Mark Wahlberg is speaking out to reveal the “biggest sacrifice” about working in Hollywood.

Wahlberg’s ‘Biggest Sacrifice’

Wahlberg, 54, is currently promoting his new movie Play Dirty. His four children were able to visit him while he filmed it. They also attended the movie’s Hollywood premiere on Wednesday night.

This meant the world to Wahlberg, as making movies oftentimes takes him away from his family, much to his dismay.

“They were actually at the premiere last night, which is nice. And, you know, the biggest sacrifice with my job is being away from my family,” Wahlberg told ABC News. “So, to be able to have them come and share that and experience it and just spend time with me, you know, visit dad so I can see their faces.”

Wahlberg went on to joke that as his children have gotten older, they’ve become less interested in his Hollywood career.

“In the Transformer days, they were interested. They wanted to come, they wanted to see the action. They wanted to see Bumblebee,” he recalled. “Now, they’re like, ‘Dad, this is boring.'”

Wahlberg’s Family

Wahlberg and his wife Rhea Durham are parents to four children: Ella, Michael, Brendan and Grace. Wahlberg has always credited his wife with all that she’s done to raise their family while he’s been away working.

“I owe a lot to my wife,” Wahlberg told The Sun in 2018. “She has helped me become the man that I am and created a beautiful life for me and our children. I also knew that she loved me for who I am and that she was someone I could trust. Until I met her, I wasn’t ready to get married.”

Wahlberg and Durham met many years ago at a press junket in New York City. Wahlberg fell for her immediately. In fact, the day after they met, Wahberg invited Durham to attend church with him. They later married in 2009.

Wahlberg’s Fitness Routine

In his latest interview, Wahlberg revealed that he strives to be a role model for his family by adhering to his infamously early morning workouts. Indeed, his fitness routine begins each day at 3am!

“The only way I can do it is if I get to bed at 7 [p.m.], ’cause I need eight hours of sleep,” Wahlberg explained. “I learned the hard way over the years, which is why I try to show what I do every day, just so I can show people that it is about the work, it is about the discipline and this is the only way that I could be successful, both personally and professionally.”

This comes after Wahlberg previously revealed what a typical day is like for him.

“Tomorrow I’m getting up 2:30, in the gym 3:30, finish about 5:30, go to work 7:30,” Wahberg told Fox News. He added that while he’s working, he typically does some “reading, script work, then [he has] a bunch of interviews.”

In the crazy world of Hollywood, Wahlberg is one of the only stars who is such an unapologetically openly devout family man. If only we had more celebrities like him in the world.

God bless you, Mark Wahlberg!
