Back in January, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage.
Last month, Lopez and Affleck were spotted looking quite chummy on the red carpet of their new movie musical Kiss of the Spider Woman. Lopez stars in the film and Affleck executive produced it. The chemistry they shard at this premiere reportedly has their children begging them to get back together.
Lopez Stays In Touch With Affleck’s Kids
After their divorce, Lopez, 56, reportedly stayed in touch with Affleck’s three children Violet, 19, Fin, 16, and Samuel, 13. Indeed, she’s been checking in with them about their lives and arranging for the to spend time with her own children, twins Max and Emme, 17.
“That’s gone a long way with Ben’s kids, and what they’d like more than anything, as would J.Lo’s kids, is to see Bennifer 3.0,” an insider told Radar Online.
Lopez claimed last year that she’s “actually good” being single and no longer “looking for happiness in other people.” However, the chemistry between Lopez and Affleck, 53, at the Kiss of the Spider Woman premiere was palpable in the eyes of fans.
“J.Lo had a wonderful time with Ben and says he’s as sexy and wonderful as ever,” another insider alleged. “In her mind, they’re destined to be together again, plain and simple. She’s believed that all along and now she’s even more convinced that it’s a case of when, not if, it’s going to happen.”
Affleck Is ‘The Love Of Her Life’
Lopez has reportedly tried to move on by having no-strings hookups with various men. However, she reportedly hasn’t been able to stop thinking about Affleck.
“None of those guys could hold a candle to Ben,” the source explained. “He’s the love of her life in every respect.”
As for Affleck, his friends believe that getting back with Lopez would be a “huge mistake” for him.
“It’s common knowledge among Ben’s friends that he still finds Jen wildly attractive,” a friend of Affleck’s claimed. “The fact she’s pursuing him so aggressively is no doubt a big boost to his confidence.”
“It’s by no means impossible that sooner or later he’ll give her another shot,” the friend continued. “But people in Ben’s world think this would be a huge mistake, and they’re reminding him how miserable he was when they were together.”
Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Indeed, Affleck married Jennifer Garner, an actress best known for starring in the hit TV show Alias, in 2005. She’s the mother of Affleck’s three children, having them before they divorced in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony in 2004. They went on to welcome their twins in 2008 before divorcing in 2014.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They then married in July of 2022.
Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Even after their divorced, it can’t be denied that Lopez and Affleck have quite a lot of chemistry. Only time will tell if they ever decide to give their romance another shot!
