Back in January, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. That’s why it came as a shock to fans when Lopez and Affleck reunited this week to do some Christmas shopping together.
Lopez And Affleck Reunite
Lopez, 56, reunited with Affleck, 53, and his son Samuel, 13, on Sunday for some shopping and lunch at Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles. A source told People Magazine that the former couple “seemed fine.” The insider added that their main focus appeared to be on Samuel.
“They met up and went shopping together. Jen and Ben seemed fine,” the insider alleged. “The focus was mostly on Sam.”
“He was excited and chatty. They shopped for gifts in several high-end stores,” the source continued. “Jen asked a lot of questions and picked up gifts for Ben’s kids. They arrived and left separately.”
Lopez and Affleck were photographed having lunch with Samuel at Farmshop. Lopez was seen wearing a brown and white polka-dotted dress. She paired this with a cream sweater and brown boots. Meanwhile, Affleck wore khakis, a cream button-up and a matching blazer. His son kept it simple, wearing cream-colored sweatpants and white sneakers.
Lopez And Affleck’s Blended Family
Despite their split, Lopez and Affleck have maintained a good relationship. They’ve also strived to keep their blended family together. Affleck is dad to Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, sharing them with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, 53. Lopez and her ex-husband Marc Anthony, 56, are parents to 17-year-old twins Max and Emme.
“The kids are still really close,” a source close to Affleck said back in September. “They have the same groups of friends, they see each other and they talk all the time. They make sure the kids know they get along. The most important thing to both of them is raising their kids in a supportive environment, so they plan to stay in each other’s lives.”
“She’s a great mom and always gave Ben’s kids the same love,” a Lopez insider added at the time. “Even though her contact with Ben is now more sporadic, they make sure the kids can spend time together whenever they want.”
Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Indeed, he married Garner while she married Anthony.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They then married in July of 2022.
Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Though their marriage is now over, it seems that Lopez and Affleck are still on very good terms. It will certainly be interesting to see if they ever end up giving their love one more shot!
