It’s been ten months since Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck finalized their divorce after just two years of marriage. On Wednesday, Lopez spoke out to take a jab at Affleck while being interviewed on The Howard Stern Show.
Lopez’s Swipe At Affleck
During her interview with Howard Stern, Lopez took an apparent swipe at Affleck when she said that she has never “truly been loved.”
Lopez, 56, stated that though she feels like nobody has loved her, she believes that she has experienced “loving someone.”
“What I learned, I learned that it’s not that I’m not lovable, it’s that they’re not capable,” Lopez explained. “They don’t have it in them.”
She then said that “they need to appreciate the little person inside of them. They need to love them.”
Lopez went on to say that her exes gave her “what they had.”
“They gave me all of it, every time — all the rings, all the things I could ever want, right?” she explained. “Tried to give me the houses, the rings, the marriage — all of it.”
Stern, 71, chimed in to say that the men “didn’t love” Lopez. She agreed, replying, “They didn’t.”
Lopez concluded by admitting that she “didn’t love [herself].”

Lopez And Affleck’s History
Though they were only married for two years, Lopez and Affleck’s love story goes back decades.
Lopez and Affleck met in December of 2001 on the set of their infamous movie Gigli. They became engaged the next year, only to shock fans by calling off their planned wedding in 2003 just days before it was set to take place.
Lopez and Affleck each went on to marry and divorce different people. Indeed, Affleck married Jennifer Garner, an actress best known for starring in the hit TV show Alias, in 2005. They had three children together before they divorced in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez married the singer Marc Anthony, staying with him from 2004 until they divorced in 2014. He’s the father of her 17 year-old twins.
Lopez and Affleck reunited and quickly rekindled their romance in April of 2021. They went on to marry in July of 2022.
Sadly, it didn’t take long for their marriage to go off the rails. Lopez filed for divorce in August of 2024, citing their date of separation as April 26 of that year. Their divorce was finalized in January of 2025.
Lopez And Affleck Reunite
Earlier this month, an insider told Page Six that Lopez and Affleck like each other “so much more when they’re not married.” This came after they reunited on the red carpet of the New York City premiere of Lopez’s new movie Kiss of the Spider Woman.
“They each have roles to play with each other,” the source explained. “She’s the glamorous, gorgeous diva superstar on a pedestal. He’s the roguish cad who keeps her at a distance to maintain sexual tension.”
“As long as they are each playing their parts, they’re perfect,” the insider concluded. “The minute they try to be anything more than that— especially something as pedestrian as husband and wife — it’s so doomed.”
This has clearly been a very difficult year for Lopez. She is hoping to turn things around with Kiss of the Spider Woman, which is already garnering Oscar buzz for her. Only time will tell if Lopez is ever able to find the love that she craves in her real life!
