The wife of the Bill Stevenson, the ex-husband of the former First Lady Jill Biden, was found dead late Sunday night. This came after police were called to their home over a “domestic dispute.”
Linda Stevenson Found Dead
TMZ has confirmed that Linda Stevenson was declared dead at her home in Oak Hill, Delaware. She was reportedly discovered unresponsive in the living room of her house. Linda was 64 years-old at the time of her passing. She is survived by Bill and their daughter Christina Vettori.
An autopsy is currently being carried out to determine Linda’s cause of death. While nothing has been confirmed, a 911 call mentions a cardiac arrest. Police are now investigating to determine if Linda died as a result of a criminal act.
“Detectives from the division’s criminal investigations unit were notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation,” the local police department said in a statement.
Bill And Jill’s History
Bill and Jill were married from 1970 until 1975. He has previously claimed that he was still married to Jill when she began seeing Joe Biden in 1975. In 1972, Bill and Jill worked on Joe’s first campaign for the Senate.
“‘I gave $10,900 to his first campaign — in cash,” Bill later told Daily Mail.
Bill went on to say that he first began suspecting that Jill was having an affair with Joe in August of 1974. At the time, Bill was 26, Jill was 23 and Joe was 31.
“I know exactly when it was. Bruce Springsteen was going to play at The Stone Balloon and I had to go to Northern New Jersey to pay him in advance,” Bill alleged. “I asked Jill to go with me and she said no — she had things to do, she had to look after Joe’s kids, Beau and Hunter. It was kind of a big deal to go meet Springsteen. I had no idea she and Joe were that kind of friendly.”
“Then one of her best friends told me she thought Joe and Jill were getting a little too close,” he continued. “I was surprised that she came to me.”
Bill’s suspicions about the affair were soon confirmed when a man told him that Joe had been driving his wife’s car when they were involved in an accident.
“I asked Jill to leave the house, which she did,” Bill remembered. “Her father was begging me to take her back when he found out what was going on. He asked me to give her a second chance, but I wasn’t interested.”
Bill Was ‘Not Surprised’ Joe Fell For Jill
Meanwhile, Bill admitted that he was “not surprised” that the Bidens fell in love.
“Everyone who meets Jill falls in love with her immediately. It’s hard not to,” he added.
Bill concluded by saying that Linda was his silver-lining when it came to his divorce from Jill.
“If it wasn’t for my divorce, I would never have met my wife Linda and she’s the greatest thing in my life,” he said.
Indeed, you can watch Bill talk more about this in the video below.
As for the Bidens, they’ve long claimed that they met on a blind date after Jill’s 1975 divorce. However, many have pointed out that the timing of their story doesn’t seem to add up.
At the time of this writing, no charges have been filed in the death of Linda Stevenson. May she rest in peace.
