The country music sensation Lainey Wilson made a Thanksgiving announcement that will have her fans feeling very excited.

Wilson’s Thanksgiving Announcement

NFL fans won’t be left out either!

Wilson, 32, will be spending the holiday next month performing at The Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show during the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day game against the New York Giants at AT&T Stadium.

The annual Thanksgiving game in Dallas will be a massive audience for the popular bell-bottomed singer.

“You might know me for my bell-bottoms, but I want to be known for my bell-ringing, too,” Wilson said. “I am so excited to announce that I have teamed up with The Salvation Army to love beyond the holidays and make a difference in our communities all year round.”

“Tune in to watch me and a special guest this Thanksgiving on Fox,” she added. “We’re gonna kick off the season right.”

Wilson Will Follow In Dolly Parton’s Footsteps

This halftime show is the official start of The Salvation Army’s annual fundraiser. Last year, the event helped support services for more than 27 million people in America.

Dolly Parton performed at that 2023 halftime show, drawing in 42 million viewers.

“Well, first of all, ain’t nobody’s going to top Dolly Parton. When she walked out of there in that outfit, I was like, ‘my girl, my girl,’” Wilson told Fox Sports when asked about Parton’s show. “We’re getting it ready, y’all. I’m so excited for y’all to see what we’ve been working on. It’s some of the hits. You’re going to be surprised. It’s going to keep you on your toes, is all I’m going to say.”

‘It’s An Honor’

In another statement, Wilson said that it will be “an honor” to “follow in the footsteps” of Parton and other legendary performers.

“It’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of legendary performers like my friend Dolly Parton, The Jonas Brothers, and Reba, of course, to kick off The Salvation Army’s iconic Red Kettle Campaign,” Wilson said in a statement.

The Dallas Cowboys could not be happier to have Wilson performing.

“Performers like Lainey Wilson represent the next generation of role models for so many,” Charlotte Jones, chief brand officer and co-owner of the Dallas Cowboys and former national advisory board chairperson for The Salvation Army, said in a press release.

“We are so thankful to have her energy and enthusiasm on our national stage this year to highlight the Red Kettle Kickoff and the importance of giving back to those who need it most,” she continued.

Wilson will be joined for the halftime show by a surprise guest. She’ll also be performing songs from her fifth studio album, Whirlwind, which came out in August.

Wilson has taken the country music world by storm in recent years. That’s why it should come as no surprise that the Dallas Cowboys would want her to perform at their halftime show. We can’t wait to celebrate Thanksgiving by watching Wilson perform at this halftime show next month!
