Megyn Kelly is speaking out this week to name Jane Fonda as one of the “meanest” celebrities that she’s ever encountered. And Fonda isn’t the only celebrity that Kelly is calling out publicly for their alleged discretions.
Kelly Torches Fonda
When asked about mean stars by Daily Mail, Kelly immediately responded by saying that “Jane Fonda comes to mind.”
Fonda, 88, infamously chided Kelly, 55, on live TV during a 2017 interview. She did this after the talk show host asked her about her various plastic surgeries. However, Kelly is now claiming that she was only trying to steer Fonda away from bragging about her sex scenes with Robert Redford. He was being interviewed with her as they promoted their movie Our Souls at Night.
“What happened in that segment, Robert Redford was on, his PR person came up to me, and said ‘For the love of God, don’t talk about their sex scenes,'” Kelly recalled. She added that the publicist went on to tell her, “he doesn’t want to talk about them. Steer her to any other topic. It makes him uncomfortable.”
Kelly “listened” to this and decided to ask Fonda other questions that viewers would be interested in. However, this did not sit well with Fonda, who became visibly upset with Kelly live on air.
“She was offended that I wasn’t steering her there.” Kelly remembered. “She really wanted to talk about their sex scenes.”

Kelly Names More ‘Mean’ Celebrities
Kelly went on to name Bruce Willis as another of her “meanest” celebrities. She lamented that he behaved similarly to Fonda when she interviewed him on Fox News in 2006, albeit for different reasons.
“He came on and was just so clearly unhappy to be there,” Kelly stated. “I mean, that’s fine, he has his politics, but why agree to come on?”
Though Willis has long been one of the only Republican stars in Hollywood, it still seemed to Kelly like he was reluctant to be there that day.
“Usually people have some give. He didn’t. At all,” Kelly said, describing Willis as being “so ungiving, so ungenerous.”
“And I hate to say it because of how he’s struggling now. But he was just unpleasant, Kelly admitted. This was a reference to Willis’s ongoing battle with dementia.
Kelly Calls Out Ellen DeGeneres
Finally, Kelly called out Ellen DeGeneres as another one of her “meanest” celebrities. Indeed, she added to claims that many others have made about DeGeneres’ behavior in recent years.
“I worked with someone – that person had a very close family member work for Ellen,” Kelly began. “That staffer was very reliable, and they said you were not allowed to even make eye contact with her.”
“This was a producer on the show. They were all told, if you come across her in the hallway, even if you’re already looking in that general direction, to look down at the floor,” she continued. “You would look down like a serf. You’d actually have to avert your eyes.”
“I’ve never heard anything like that before. With any of these big personalities. And I knew that before the bullying scandal broke, so when it did, I was not surprised at all,” Kelly concluded. “She is a bad person.”
It certainly is always interesting to hear who really are behind Hollywood these days. Only time will tell if Kelly has more “mean” celebrities to expose in the future!
